that looks incredible !!
Like a brand new miata!!
I’m super happy this is being used to restore another 93LE.
This was scary and so glad I did it myself. Hopefully the results last, but I’m super happy with the paint job.
Items used:
- Dupli•Color Prep Spray (greese and wax remover) [1 can].
- Dupli•Color Flat Black Vinyl & Fabric Spray Pain [2 cans].
- Wish I would have used an adhesion promotor.. Maybe next time if it flakes (crossing my fingers it won’t).
Steps:
- Tapped off red pieces of dash.
- Cleaned dash with microfiber towel and hot water.
- Cleaned dash with Dupli•Color prep spray (sprayed on microfiber towel and wiped dash).
- 3 light coats of Dupli•Color flat black spray paint in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal directions.
- 3 heavy coats with 10-15min in between.
- Let it dry for 30mins and then removed masking tape.
Done!
Results:
- 9/10
- I am happy with the color of the paint. It looks OEM stock.
- I am still on the fence of leather wrapping it due to style reasons.
- Overall, very happy for now.
- Will update if it flakes.
