More Maintenance is in!! This time brakes.

So I've always been a brake addict and always enjoyed different combinations but I feel this will be the best one yet. There's a lovely website called www.croooober.com and they have the weirdest stuff for super cheap prices and i was able to find these hot boi pads.

    0.jpg

Straight out of Gran Turismo 4 I was able to find Pitwork pads (Pitwork for those who don't know usually makes parts exclusively for Nissan's) made for an NA6 caliper Miata and when i saw on the box "Mazda NA6" I knew i was good to get them. These are my fronts and according to some digging and translating these will be a more aggressive street/autox pad which is great because the car will see some track time. Next up is Endless pads and these will be the rears, these are more forgiving but still very grabby from what I read. And went on Moss Miata and bought some goodies I picked up DBA Drilled slotted fronts and Brembo OEM replacement rears and should be getting them tomorrow or Wednesday.

As you can see "Nissan CO" I just thought it was so funny.

I still need SS lines however, any suggestions? or does anyone know of a black Friday deal on brake lines?

Flyin’ Miata. Especially with their sales coming up for Black Friday. They’ve even listed which day what will be on sale..

This year is gonna be expensive..
You want a good car. I want a good miata.

Boy oh boy do i have a campfire story for you guys!!

So I have been in constant contact with the dealership I bought the car from to figure out more about this cars history and man did I get a lot today. So the dealership owned the car for 5 years which i had already known but i had zero info before that. At the dealership it was used for Mazda events in the area and thats about it. But i found out the previous owner and boy is it juicy. So the original owner was actually a Mazda tech for Mazda Tokyo, He owned it for 20 years before it was sold to the dealership (The dealership is actually one of the best sellers of the R32,R33,R34 family so it was a good home.) they were able to call him and ask about the car and if anything was modified in areas i cant see. He had head work done with RS AWIZAWA shaving the head down by 30 Thousandths and upgrading the springs with a stiffer Mazda-speed spring than what it came with. And he said the redline is 8200, i haven't and probably wont try but I believe it. Here is the best part, The differential as he explained was a prototype diff offered for the B-spec was supposed to be in production publicly but they said it was not practical. According to him only the first 5 B-specs received it and was never a public optional upgrade and mine is the Second B-spec. The gearing in it is a 4.4 (At 80 i am at 5000 RPM) Mazda designed it to max out at the braking zone for turn 1 at Fuji Speedway to achieve full power all the way through the long straight. The diff isn't the only big change, the transmission has the optional close ratios for 3rd,4th, and 5th gear there is a picture of this in the 1999 Mazdaspeed catalog and this explains my crazy tight gearing and me only dropping about 500 RPM between shifts. The car was also tracked all across japan tracks like Tsukuba,Suzuka, Fuji and Motegi. So far that is all he told them I will try to get some more questions to them to ask him. Now I really want to change my differential and transmission fluids.

Oh wow, amazing to get that kind of info.

My RS-Aizawa car revved to 8200 on the original tune (HKS piggy-back ECU) but I swapped that ecu out for a more modern one, tuner set the new limit to 8000.

Do you have any dyno charts for your car ? it'd be interesting to compare! Although not much to compare given supercharging B-spec Type 3 :-)

Interesting to see cars go back and forth between Mazdaspeed and RSA...

Amusingly I saw a photo of the Mazdaspeed C-spec manifold, and it looks like they did exactly what I have from RSA, the 4AGE AE101 silvertop intake manifold. I have to question whether RSA developed it for them, or copied that.

    Wow Atlex thats awesome!!

RSA has always been in my top 5 Roadster tuners. And I don't have any dino charts....yet. I got the car only a couple months ago and I dont drive it much, and I want to get it safe before doing any hard pulls or driving but when I have pushed the car it really throws you back. To my butt dino i'm guessing 205 around that because i had an all motor NB making 198 wheel and it feels exactly the same but with a little more pep. And the Mazdaspeed ITBS are a personal goal of mine to get I would love to get a set I know there is someone in California who has them.

the manifold pictured on that "c spec" is actually a b spec stage III. the c spec intake is different.
