JDM/EDM NB 1.6 question

I am 99% sure the only Miata engines with MBSP are the VVT 1.8 ones. That being said, I have not taken mine apart or even wondered about it so I may be wrong.

I have not taken one apart either, but it doesn't have the MBSP oil pan/engine mounts.
