    CLASSIC MAZDAS ON SHOW

Fans of Mazda have a rare opportunity to see some classic models of the past at two exhibitions at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Celebrating 60 years of Japanese cars in the U.S., “The Roots of Monozukuri” highlights the creativity and craftsmanship that are synonymous with car manufacturing in Japan. Among the models on display are a stunning 1960 Mazda R360 Coupe KRBB, and 1969 Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S. “Fine Tuning” features tuned Japanese cars, with a 1974 Mazda RX-3 (above) taking a starring role.

I was literally JUST there a week ago. I somehow neglected to get pictures of this car. I did get a Cosmo picture though...

For $15 (or maybe it was $16) the Petersen has some phenomenal exhibits, totally worth the visit.

Yes, it was (again, I failed to get a picture somehow... too busy drooling).

There were a LOT of nice Japanese cars on display (a tuning-shop Supra, a new Corolla drift car, some old Datsuns, NSX, the Pink S2K from Fast & Furious, etc.).

There was also a pretty solid Porsche exhibit (and I was at the Porsche museum at Stuttgart a year ago, for comparison). This being one of my favorites, the original #001 RuF CTR "Yellowbird".
