    Hello All,

    It is a little while since I have posted on here. I am afraid I have been busy and whilst I have been doing some MX5 work it has been quieter in the last couple of years.

    In that time I have sold the following cars:

    The Corns roadster to a good friend who enjoys it as had a kitchen revamp this helped pay for.



    My 1990 Red Roadster.



    I still have the following roadsters -

    My MK1 Tuckin99 Roadster FM2 Turbo.



    My MK1 Pitcrew Roadster ITB S-Limited



    My MK1 S-Special now a S-Limited



    My MK1 R-Limited, which is my attempt at a tidy stock Limited Edition.



    Over the last few years I have also got a few MK2 MR2s.

    My 1997 MK2 MR2 Rev4 JDM Turbo




    My 1996 MK2 MR2 Rev3 JDM Turbo with TOMS Kit.




    My 1994 MK2 MR2 Rev3 Turbo converted to a 1MZ 3.0 V6




    Finally my latest project. Since getting my yellow Rev4 MR2 Turbo it got me liking yellow cars and I figured I have never owned a Yellow MK1 roadster out of the 50 plus that I have had. As such end of November I got this 1991 Eunos Roadster J-Limited so a JDM import and limited edition model in Japan back in the day.

    Plus points is it has only done 97,000KM so about 60,000 miles. Never really been messed with but never really been cared for so whilst not a rot box from what I have seen so far not had much love or use. So far it has had a full service so oil, oil filter, air-filter, camcover gasket, cam o-ring seal, spark plugs, spark plug leads, fan switch sensor and engine temperature sensor. The oil was pretty thick that came out and the spark plugs worn so jobs worth doing.

    For now nothing too exciting looking.




    I have done most of the stuff I want to do with roadsters so this one wont go mad. I have bought an OEM front lip spoiler for it, agreed to buy some nice JDM wheels for it, need to lower it, sort some rust on the sills.

    James, so great to see an update on here from you and hope you guys now have a most spectacular kitchen! Very glad the Corns Roadster went to a friend.. would have been gutted if you hadn't considered me before passing it on to just anyone ;).     Thanks for the welcome back! It was a shame to sell the Corn's but it went to a friend who always liked it. He has continued to car for it and show it TLC so I am glad it has gone to someone who enjoys it.

    Merry Christmas to you and family too Pete. Since I saw you last Pete work has been manic and projects have gone elsewhere. It is a nice kitchen (walls down, etc.) so if you are ever back in England you will have to stop by if you fly into London Gatwick.

    Thanks. About 20 years ago when I was at university I had MK2 MR2s and used to flit between them and a MK1 MX5. I still like both. When I first bought it I did so on condition but the yellow colour has really grown on me.

    Thanks Randy. I will try not to be. The MX5s have seen a few upgrades but nothing major. Pretty much got them how I want them. Worthless fact is my first MX5 about 20 years ago should have been a yellow J-Limited. I didn't do it and bought a red MK1 instead (from Japan). All that time later I finally have a yellow J-Limited.

    In other news these are the wheels I have planned for the yellow one.



    Not going to go mad on it but lowered, some nice period JDM wheels and original OEM front lip painted and with these wheels will look nice enough for me.

    Likewise in other news. A chap contacted me on my FB page to say hello. It turns out he had my friends old red Pitcrew I helped restore it a few years ago after building my own black Pitcrew. I had got involved with the car as it had been off the road suffering from rust issues, mechanical issues, etc.

    I helped sort all that and get it on the road again sourcing various JDM parts and using friendly contacts to do the paintwork, welding, hood, etc.

    Sadly my mate hit a few difficulties, lost motivation and the car sat on the road without insurance or tax. It was pulled by the local town council and put in the pound. I found out too late to help my friend and thought it had been crushed. I was therefore surprised to find a few years later it has crossed the Atlantic and is now residing in the USA. It must be someone down the car pound spotted it and pulled it from its fate. Nice the car survived but sad for my friend that he got to a position where he just let the car go.

    I live just outside of London, not far from you. I am near Gatwick Airport. I got the red SSR MK2 yesterday and have fitted 2 of them this morning. Although the car needs to be lowered it already looks better.

    Yeah the corns is a cool car and the new owner is very happy and I am glad he is enjoying it.

    Some pre-Christmas work done on the J-Limited. As mentioned I am not going crazy on this car as have done most things I would like to with the MK1 MX5 but the thought of a tidy Yellow MK1 appeals. As such today I finished fitting the SSR MK2.




    Needs lowered and more work which will happen in 2019 but gives an idea of the design in mind.

    Likewise thanks to Russell I got a nice JDM style bar for the yellow car. Again suits with the period of the car and is 'Powered by Love Lark.'




    2019 and I will look at some coilovers for the J-Limited, look to sort the sills (essentially its solid) and get round to giving it a clean as not had a wash since I got it and just very much a WIP. Importantly need to get it MOT'd as it has not been road legal since April 2018.

    I'd love to see those SSR centers redone in matching yellow... that's my unsolicited input! You could just plasti-dip temporarily just to see and have it be 100% reversible.

    For the moment the wheels will stay as they are. I quite like them in red but on the whole just glad to get a set of period JDM wheels I like for the car. With winter here the car will remain garaged but spring and I get the bodywork tidied (and washed!), sort the sills and look at the suspension set up, fit a factory front lip spoiler.

    Going through paperwork since 2004 it has only done 27,000KM and in the last 8 years hardly any miles. Having a poke round the car I don't think there is an alarming rust issues. The sills are down to the classic blocked drain holes.

    I did fit the Weapon style bar yesterday. Again suits the period for the car with JDM parts from the era.
