    2004 Rear Subframe into a 1992 Miata. Are the suspension pieces interchangeable?

    Hello MazdaRoadster,
    I have a 1992 Miata that used to have a 1.6 viscous 4:30 rear differential.
    I now have a Torsen 3.9 differential along with the related axles and driveshaft to make that Torsen differential work.

    For my Ecotec engine swap I plan to eliminate the adapter plate and the Miata 5 speed transmission next winter to install an AR5 transmission. (same transmission that would be in a Solstice)
    To do that I may want to eliminate the PPF (Power Plant Frame) by using the K-Miata kit to support the rear end.

    From the K-Miata website:
    ====================
    Sorry, 1990-1993 owners will need to swap the rear subframe to a newer version since the 1.6L cars did come come with any attachment points for a rear subframe brace.
    ====================
    If I go this route I will need to swap in a 1994 to 2005 rear subframe.
    I think I found a nice low mileage 2004 subframe I might hoard until I do the swap. But it is a bare subframe. My questions is:

    Will all my 1992 rear suspension parts swap over to the 2004 subframe?

    Yes. Key difference is the exhaust hangers are in different locations on the NB rear subframes. Any muffler shop can weld new hangers on your exhaust to match the new locations.
