Talking Help make 275/35/15 street tires become a reality

From another forum and I am definitely interested so I thought I'd pass the info along:

Some enthusiasts(Miata definitely applies) that are making big power or are tracking/auto-xing their street cars would like to see a wider tire option that what is currently out there, that can perform when needed, and still run from home to the track. Right now, 245 is the widest street tire available in a 15" size.

This week, I have reached out to several manufacturers and got a positive response from one(Maxxis) speaking of possible development of a wider street tire, and that if I wanted to put together a petition to show interest in may expedite getting something going.

Please consider signing the online petition linked below to help show interest in a tire this size. Also, please don't be afraid to share with your local groups/communities to help!

No but ya probably 15x10 as Steven said. I believe miata guys currently run 275 Hoosiers on 15x10s. I'd like to do 15x11 personally

275mm is about 10.8" now what the actual tire measure could be narrower or wider if it comes to fruition.

I have my order in but according to another post they aren't expected for months still. Quite the small market tax on them, $229/ea vs $159 for 245s and $135 for 225s. At least they're willing to make it happen and I have to support them for that.
