It will sell.
Phatmiata (04-05-2019)
^^ What he said ^^ there is a whole new market of buyers in Asian countries buying used imported Japanese cars, and those countries have money to burn with all the new manufacturing jobs, so I agree it will sell, it might take some time, but it will eventually sell.
If that’s what they really look like, sticking way out of the grille like that, that’s a huge no thanks. No Mater-Miata for me. But Cibie is a genuine lighting unit with far better light control than 95% of the LED-anything out there today.

I am the chap who bought them, yes they are goofy and super odd looking, but that was the time and that is what looked cool back in the 90s. They are crazy bright and work great and the best part is it is all OEM wiring so its perfect length and there are no jumbled wires and sketchy relays. And they're a part of Mazda history, I know the restoration program is up and chugging but stuff like this will never be around ever again so I am happy too say I own it.

I'm an OG too and they look cool and I bet they really work well. I will just have to put LED's in mine and hope for the best. Enjoy!

Can't comment on the fogs, but I have just replaced my 7" Hellas with Cibies, and the Cibies are hands down, no comparison, better in light output and focus. Same wattage bulbs. Night and day better. I'm shocked. I can only imagine how good these fogs are, considering most of their competitors are pretty much for show only.

Ha yes Phat the early 90s Racing Beat units are what lives in my nose with a forklift-grade PAR36 sealed beam bulb. They are garbage. But mine are for looks. I’ve run several sets of square Cibie fogs over the years even the large 8” ones on OTM cars and trucks. I can say honestly that LED anything has yet to catch up with the quality of light output from a metal coated leaded glass Cibie with a proper reflector and optics. Those on a Miata would allow some very comfortable driving.

Your'e fogs look way cool and I LOVE the AMX style over the top racing stripe too!!! (I used to have a 1969 BBO AMX) Just saw the wire wheels. That's what I'm putting on my car one day. Are they bolt on or knock off. Reason I ask is they look like they don't stick out so much (if you know what I mean). They look outstanding!
I think the purpose of the "goofy" fog light mounting shown in the thread above is so the lights do not impede air flow into the radiator. So a functional design.
Below is my old skool Hella fog lights in black housing. I will share this picture here since the fog lights have already sold. I plan to use these like daylight driving lights to catch attention to drivers around me. I quickly notice late model Dodge Challengers in my mirror that run the yellow lights.
I will be adding a Brightning bumper vent and a diversion panel to compensate for air flow restrictions and to feed air flow to my oil cooler.
I like the look of the fog lights in this location. I will use the outer mounting locations for turn-buckles that will support the front Jetstream spoiler.

Thank you. They are a Dayton bolt on 72 spoke and alas, are now vintage no longer made pieces. Very sturdy and have never leaked or needed truing in the 25+ years I had them. Quick pic here:
Sort of a controversial wheel choice though. There are some that say the Miata needs wire wheels like the space shuttle needs a wood stove, and there’s some truth to that.
oldgrayleather (04-28-2019)
Some may say that Yes, but You can't argue with how great your's looks and I'm trying to old school my miata too, with talbot type racing mirrors either at the front edge of the door or on the fender as I haven't totally dis-sided yet and the flat trunk lid and short rear bumper (no side markers) GV tail light panel with corvette tail lights and in the front I want to get a fiberglass bumper custom made like the factory one so I can paint it in Imron and have no side markers as well. (some people think I'm crazy, but with the flex agent they never totally match or they cure out different) Of course the Dayton wheels but I want to use the knock off adapters to have true knock off's with the spinners. Thank You for posting the extra photo!!! Your car is Beautiful and the wheels really make me anxious to get mine!!! What size wheels & tires are they? They look perfect! I want the same look as I'm not going to race it, so fat tires are not needed.
