Thank you! Current specs are 4x100 in a 14x6.5 +13 configuration. Really Inspired by oldgrayleather and his setup so I am thinking of going a similar route with 14x8.5 -8 or possibly 14x9. Just playing the waiting game to see if anyone will pick up my work wheels. If not, then I’ll use them as a second set I suppose and I’ll just take me a bit longer to get the funds in order to widen and refinish these ones

I don't know if you have considered it but making them 15s looks really neat when using the 14" faces:

(Not sure if that what this actually is but has the same triple stepped lip)

That of course would give you more tire choices but probably more costly vs just widening. I do like 14s on NA/NBs though, I'd like to get a second set of wider 14s as well.

15 inch tire options are great. 14 is not great. you can have any tire you want as long as its 185 60 14 star spec

I run a 14/60/195 Falken Azenis and they feel great and are pretty affordable for 200TW.

Hmmm. I was thinking about 225/50/14 or 205/55/14 if I stayed with 14s.

But idk. Something about the meatier look on the tire just looks so good. I haven’t fully decided as of yet. I’ve always had 15s in the past, and even the work wheels I’ve got are 15s. So 14s are new to me

Wow! 225?! thats a big boy tire for a miata. I am stock so skinny grippy tire is the way to go for me but if you have the right offset they can look really meaty and they wont slow you down.

I hear you and agree. Just wish there was something besides the Toyo R888 as a option, something that can handle wet conditions a little better like the Hankook RS4.

225s were considered wide several years ago for a Miata, now there is the 245/40/15...almost a inch wider.

Soooo.... I’m at a standstill. So I need some suggestions.

How much quilted trim pieces in the interior does it take for it to be considered too much? Thinking of the quilted lotus seats like my old NA, transmission tunnel, side step, and a strip in the rear where the soft top used to be, just like on my old NA. However do you think that quilting the door panels as well would make it overboard? Part of me says yes, another part says no.

Here is a photo of the interior of my old NA for reference. You can see the trans tunnel trim, the rear deck belt line and the seats. There was also some trim underneath the doors called the sidestep trim I had as well. Looks great to me like this and plan on going this route again, but I’m heavily considering the door panels as well...

What say you? Too much to quilt the door panels? And if so, what other type of design should I go with? Really love phatmiata’s panels on his roadster Kirin, however his seats are not quilted and are straight lines so it matches a lot better. Since my seats will be quilted I’m having a hard time deciding what to do with the door panels

Interior: it's all about balance and contrast. Too much of anything will make it all meld together and not stand out. If your seats are quilted, I'd skip the door cards, like you did in Pandora.

As far as tires go, I'll be running 225 R1R's on 15's with ~400whp or better. Less tire can be okay (I drove a 300whp LS1 with 205's in the dry, it was manageable if you behaved). 14's will limit you in a big way.

I'd say if you go quilted door panels, either do the seat centers plain or something contrasting.

That’s what I was thinking, I believe pandora had a perfect blend of quilted interior, but the door panels might make it overboard. But i would like to do something with them so they stand out a bit and aren’t just plain ol panels, ya know?

Hmmmm... I wonder if they can turn the 14” sharks into 15” sharks? I just sent them a message. So I’ll find out shortly.
