I took mine to Hiro's when my VLSD blew. It was pretty expensive.

    Costa Mesa.

New R&P, new bearings, new seals, R&R diff, new driveshaft, it was $1200.

    Wow! So expensive.

cpttony86, why not just buy another one for half? Just curious, as to what application the rebuild was for, direct replacement or competition?

knocking sound is probably the axle cv's going out. and the wine is the bearings. i doubt a torsen would cost as much to have rebuilt as they are pretty simple. there are only 2 or 3 adjustments to be made to them. you could probably do it yourself if your mechanically inclined for $300 with the giant micrometer and bearings you need.

I was in a pinch and needed the car back. Twibs is correct. There are specialty shops that could do it for less. FWIW, the R&P are about $450 new from Mazda. I had mine shotpeened deburred amd microcoated.
