    Minty.Fresh - The Green 5

Well, here was the car at teeside round 1 at the Northern Drift Championship. Just noticed I have no build up on here for this car. When im out of work I'll get it sorted out lol.

I ended up coming third in my class which was not bad considering I havent drifted in 7 months, the car only runs on 3 cylinders and Iv never been to that track before (Driver excuses haha) Had alot of fun.. So bought a new Mk2 (NB 1.8) engine and was getting ready to go out for a night sesh.

Needed to swap out my brakes so went to my friends house.. who lives 2 seconds away from a scap yard.. so we thought we'd go for a gander and see what we could find however.. it didnt go to plan

It was a 30mph zone and when I was turning right.. a triumph motorbike tried to over take me.. he must of been doing maybe 60mph!

Thankfully the biker is ok. He went to hospital and I got a phone call from the police to tell me that he had broken toes and a dislocated thumb. Im not going through Insurance as they will write my car off but oh well.. just glad I still have my legs to be honest.

Good thing the windshield wasn't shattered to add on top of that. Did the rider collapse on your car after he hit or just fly off the bike?

Don't you love it when idiots try to blame you for their incompetence.

Hood OK? (check), Hardtop OK? (check), windshield OK? (check), mirrors OK? (check)...new door, easy fix/swap, and it looks like you can pop the front fender back into shape. Sucks bad about the rim (tire salvageable?). Did the wheel brake from the bike or did you hit the curb during the accident?

Looking at your car, I would have thought the biker would been in worse shape that that...

My car just crumpled lol. Yeah steering rack, track rod and end, door, wheel and tyre are all totally not fixable lol. When I get time I'll find out if the coilover is ok.
The biker hit the car/wheel/door and flew over my wing while I was sent the other direction and he just kept rolling.

Also ordered up a few more bits and bobs!

Well iv now swapped my engine in. Got started on friday, never done one before tbh and didnt have much clue on what to do but got it out. Took till like half 5 in the morning.. then yesterday we build up the new engine with the parts from the old one and got it back in and wired up etc.

Just need to put the fluid in and see if it starts. Chuffed though. Its a 1.8 mk2 engine with the mk1 inlet manifold and exhaust manifold and the mk2 gearbox with my paddle clutch. Removed loads of not needed stuff out the bay .. also need to swap my diff for a welded one then.. it should be golden..
