Whoa that thing is long. You sure that's for Miata and not rx7's?

Well, I'll be...I have never seen a Racing Beat that looks like that. Must be older that the common aluminum elbow intake. Now I want to know more!

yeah it bolts on to the top of the OEM airbox and used in conjunction with a performance filter should give a nice sound at least!

its a really old piece of kit from the early days of miata/mx5 tuning so quite nice to have as a collectors piece if nothing else!

I had one on my 95. Worked good nice sound, seemed like there was a small performance gain. Be a little careful with it, the plastic gets brittle

    ^Ding ding ding.

Basically its just like the JR Cool air intake. Where it sources the cooler air from the gap between the hood and the front bumper. But instead of having a whole new air box and cross over pipe, it utilizes the stock equipment and just adds a snorkel to gather in cooler air.

Some of them would rub on the underside of the hoods.

I have one of these on my 1.6. It was the original Power Pulse before being discontinued and replaced with the U-turn and cone filter. There is also a bracket (which I haven't been able to find any more than vague references to) that will relocate the power steering reservoir slightly to accommodate the chute on this thing. I use it with a K&N drop-in filter and have no other engine mods and it sounds and works beautifully. I picked up mine complete with stabilizer bracket for $80 and love it. They were apparently stupid expensive back in the day.
