Will be swapping over the good bits from my old engine since the jdm engine has surface rust.

Compression Numbers are looking very promising!

Main goal for this build is to get it back on the road, but also properly. And yes standalone ecu is in the shopping cart along with bigger injectors (what I should have done from the getgo)

Decided to delete the front water neck since I am doing the water pump and timing belt
Definitely cleans up the front end.

    Nice numbers!

Those are similar to mine when I rebuilt my original B6.

Glad to see your hustle paying off. Wishing smooth completion and results the rest of the way!

And yes, stand-alone will help you keep control of those issues. Plan ahead to make smog testing less of a chore. Things like etching the CAS positions for the standalone versus stock ecu, getting an extra TPS pig tail and some weatherpack connectors to be able to swap between an automatic TB assy (for VTPS the standalone prefers) and the stock TB. Also, bullet connections at the main loom just off the ECU connector blocks will allow you to switch between narrowband and wideband easily when you swap ECUs for smog, along with switching your WBO2 setting to NBO2 (Innovate WBO2, for example).

I set my ‘92 that way when I lived out there. I could put it back to ‘stock’ config in less than an hour, and back in about the same amount of time.

It’s a little bit of work, but a little bit of detail to conceal the extras to make it look right to the inspector.

The fuel injectors...that is what it is. Maybe just keep the stockers in a bag with extra seals.

I too run a Brainstorm fuel lid (similar to Zoom but stainless steel) without the trim part. I think it looks better!
