Question What would like to see for the new ND Roadster?

So Mazda Wants Jalopnik Readers To Help Create The Next Miata?

Hello!?! Why not ask the current owners? After all, the current Miatas biggest competition is the USED Miata!

If you had the money to burn on the New Miata what would make you pull the trigger and buy one?

    Another R-Package?

    Coupe Version?

    Mazdaspeed Version?

What do you guys want to see?

No evil clown crap, just simple, elegant design with subtle curves. Round headlights and a small oval mouth. Oh, and 250hp.

I'd like to see the ND as an evolved version of the NC. The same relationship the NB had to the NA. It should shed a couple hundred pounds. Wider wheels and tires, fatter steering wheel rim. Mazdaspeed version would be awesome! I'd be happy to see the Z-fold top depart to make it possible to fit up a proper aftermarket roll bar with rear supports.
    Edit--

My reasoning behind wanting an ND based on the NC is partly influenced by this-- The aftermarket is huge for NA/NB cars. With a shared platform and more years of production, there will be a bigger aftermarket for NC/ND cars.

Not for me. I'd like to see a complete departure from the NC and back to basics with a whole new lightweight but super rigid platform and retro aesthetics. Aluminum, and composits used wherever possible.

Certainly there should be different versions available: Speed, Club, Cruiser but the base platform should be the same and everything else be a modular add-on, subtraction or swap you can do at the dealer while ordering your car.

I'm probably the only one here who thinks a turbo diesel motor would be cool as well. That and a super tall sixth gear that drops revs down to 1000rpm at 80mph.

Just going back to the basics, cutting a lot of weight. If it had the same power levels as the NC but the weight of the NA, or less, it'd be pretty quick. But I might just be dreaming for a modern car to cut that much weight.

An engine bay that isn't as cluttered as the NC.

Yes, an engine bay as simple as the NA's with no stupid plastic engine covers!

The sun visors in the NC are ridiculous. My passenger side is held up with office supplies because it broke under the weight of my garage door remote. Room for improvement there.

S2000 reset the bar for the Roadster. They need to use that as a starting point as far as performance and handling wise and then improve upon it.

Turbo, lightweight, not so many creature comfort as the NC has. Better holding seats ( bride, sparco, corbeau your que) lightweight, awd. Wait wut? Strange lined exterior. Think lotus, zonda, Lamborghini. Aerodynamic dang it! If I wanted drag I would drive a dodge ram.

No seriously... want their design motto like dancing in the wind. Some thing crazy like that? And no smiley faces! Gimme angry if anything. Please!

2200 lbs and about 200 normally aspirated Hp, w/ about 180 lb.ft. of torque. Everything else will be gravy.
