Boss Performance's Dream Your Part Thread!

    Hello everyone!

Boss Performance has previously only had other company's products for sale on our website. However, since the beginning there have been plans for parts of our own. Now is the time that some of our initial parts are going to start being designed and eventually built and tested. I was thinking what better way to give you all the products you want than to listen to what you want and then just make it!

So if there is a part of the car that you think could be improved upon or modified, or and addition somewhere, or really anything Miata related post it here. From a VQ35 V6 swap kit (any interest?!?!) to a better hardtop bracket, to a quick release, your dream could be reality if there is enough interest and it is something that could sell to more than just 4 or 5 people. If I decide to put your idea into production you would get one set of whatever it was for free, thus getting your dream part for free!

Be specific with your idea! I'm not just looking for responses like "Tow hooks." I'm more looking for how you would like to see a tow hook (for example) improved, or a part that isn't currently made. Remember, there are no stupid ideas, feel free to let your imagination run wild!

Visor delete plates with go pro camera mount.

    Visor delete plates.

Tombstone lower console delete piece (A piece to fill the gap under the tombstone when console is deleted)

Randall style intake tube (like the FM, but not carbon fiber so there isnt a $150+ price tag?)

A Better headlight retractor rod? Adjustable maybe for sleepy eyes?

The extinguisher forward mount would be like this:

maybe out of mild steel tubing. Brey-Krause makes REALLY nice stuff. Their quick-release bottle mount is an exquisite piece of engineering, but hugely expensive:

Maybe something simpler, less expensive like this:

    or

or this one that uses a roll pin instead of bolts:

hell, i'd be happy with just the underseat mount with the flat mounting plates. there are a lot of bottle mounts out there.

Front and rear control arms with more camber adjustment

Front splitter that mounts on a GV lip

Some sort of read rear sub frame brace that I can run with the exhaust that is on my car ( it hangs a little low so I had to remove the stock brace)

A regular horizontal tow hook that sticks straight out from the bumper would be cool. Doesn't have to be vertical, just has to not angle down like nearly all of the currently available ones do. I've got an RS Factory Stage that's meant to do this, but it still angles down slightly.

This. I'm especially inclined to make safety related parts guys, and this seems like a great idea! There isn't already one in production? I've seen these before and have always wanted one for the Miata. It could have brackets that mount over the seat bracket in the front. Just pull your front two seat bolts out, put your bracket on, throw in your new Grade 8 bolts (gotta secure the weight of that extinguisher!), torque and you're good to go!

    That we're actually working on.

Thanks for all the great ideas everyone, I'm really impressed with the response this thread is getting.

I have that mount and it is a fantastic piece. What you can't tell in the photo is how incredibly light it is. It does stick the extinguisher out just a little bit but I can route the holes to bring it closer to the seat.
