As much as I've disliked the NC. . . . if they end up pulling it off around 2200 lbs, I might be a potential buyer for the ND. My personal preference would be N/A 1.8L with a 5 speed manual, though.
2012: Purchased Miata, Laid off 3 days later. 4th place overall (default!), NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2013: Budget RTR build, massive increase in participation, 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2014: Suspension and more active competition in STS. 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA
2015: Time for some "form" and vintage styling (while still racing NWOR, of course).

I'd also like to see how they shaved the weight. I mean is it still roughly the same size as the NC but on a diet or did they shrink it.

Is a 1.8L going to be an option? I thought they were doing a 1.3L Turbo

sorry for the old thread bump

Mazda is keeping it pretty tight lipped, but pretty sure they are going to go the sky-active route somehow, a turbo diesel engine would be a pretty cool option though.

If they gave us the diesel option, I would seriously consider buying one.

Looking back on my post, I feel the need to recant my prior statement. The 2013 Club Roaster Editions are seeeeex.

Pre order an overpriced ride that I have never before seen or driven? Yeah, totally down. I just put $2k down on the iPhone 7 so why not.

So when are we supposed to hear about a release, pictures or anything official? NC is getting kind of old, seen the new 6 and 3, CX-5...
