nice work! Pretty sweet that the krylon blue matches the smurf. The more I see bumper cuts, the more I like the idea. Definitely down with the 2 bumper street and track idea.

NA6CE 1992 Form vs Function Build and History

The second project is also rear aero, but downforce. I bought a decent mariner trunk lid locally ($25) that I will attach a functional rear spoiler. I will be able to swap the lids before the events easily, depending on the track. Some are beneficial with more downforce, others are faster and call for less resistance. I can also lend the trunk to my friends at the events to share the effects.

Is the trunklid something you can pack in the NA whiile driving to the track or will you just run the trunk and downforce on the way there?

I probably could put it in the cabin, but I would just drive to and from with it on there. A trunk lid is a fair bit easier to swap than a bumper.

The reason I was asking was because you mentioned lending it to friends at events.

Track event next Sunday, reduced drag bumper assembly swapped in. 20-30 minutes later:

Thanks! If I do it again, and I might, I would probably use a larger radius on the corners, mainly for aesthetics. Image chopped to demonstrate (R vs L):

Prep for AMP tomorrow, first event with the refurbed lifters and shorter (4.3) Torsen. Car is running strong, the weather should be great with it.

Took some shots to point out some of the stuff I run and where it is, see if you can find them:

Arm rest delete (just use an insulated P bracket with a washer as a pull), Kevlar seat, on-board Fire suppression trigger, auxiliary quick release fire bottle, harnesses, QR wheel.

Shots here shows the driver cooling system dry-break connectors, the seat cushions are in place for transit, I reconfigure/remove most of them for sessions. The harnesses are tucked away too, I use the factory belt while traveling, the harnesses only when I am wearing my HNR and helmet. The switch for the driver cooling is right of the FSS trigger.

Camera mount is in the center where the two diagonals meet.

Driver cooling system assembly is attached to the left diagonal on a quick release mount so I can refill with ice and water easily.

The small bag on the left is a tool kit, the large bag contains my suit, gloves, shoes, helmet, HNR, cool-shirt, towel, hats, camera gear, note book, extra clothes, some rain gear. My ID numbers are on the trunk floor under the bag. There are a pair of collapsible chairs against the bulkhead.

    Cut, low-drag bumper assembly.

Altogether, it takes me about an hour or so to prep the car like this.

    Glamour shots:

It’s going to be a fun day, no novices, so there will less stress and more time available for focusing on myself and friends.

    Do you even vape?

I love the functionality of this car. You have taken care of every small detail. Seriously.
