I used 3/8" spot weld cutting bits from HF. I bought two, only needed one. Go slow and steady. You will probably cut through the floor on at least one. I used a small screw driver as a wedge to lift the mount bumps so I could tell when the bit cut through it. Punch each weld with a center punch or drill bit to keep the cutter guide from walking.

IIRC, the two bits were about $5.

Tracked down the coolant leak gremlins. I used a Mighty Vac to pressurize the cooling system. Incrementally raising the pressure, finding leaks, waiting to see if the pressure holds. Rinse, lather, repeat.

Very simple and effective. The first leak showed at 7 psi, the second at 12. Both simply needed the clamps tightened. At 20 psi, I found an OE clamp I forgot to locate properly. With those complete, the cooling system held at 20 psi no issues. My radiator cap is rated at 18psi.

    Track Day, bro.

It was COLD. Cold and wet. I stayed on my 14" wheels with 195/60-14 Falken 615k. I had a blast! I don't know why I love the skinnier tires over my 15 set ( 15x8, +20 wrapped in BFG Rivals 205/50s).

The held up great. I got to see old friends, have some laughs, drive hard, have fun.

I saw members TimTim and 96 Eunos among others. I took Tim out on the track, got him in a few other cars, he loved it.

I bought a new balaclava, an Alpinestars unit to replace my too loose G-Force version. I also bought a Necksgen HNR (head and neck restraint). It a '17 light version and it works great with my harness, helmet, and seat. I only realize I'm wearing it when I turn my head more than 15 degrees. I feel safer now that my safety system is much improved.

Despite the weather, it was a great day!

Hopefully the photographers took some shots of the car.

You know I always got you! I've got plenty more of you but here is a random one until I get a chance to go through them all!

Danny, is that at T16 or at track entry after T1? Trying figure out why I'm looking so far right. I use the track entry apron to line up T2 & T3, so I try to watch for entering traffic before I go out that far. Just curious.

This what we do in Atlanta. A good friend organizes trackdays, lots of other friends show up, Danny takes great pics, everyone is happy.

Another photo. I'm trying to chase down Tom (Eunos 96) in his bus (Forester XT). It was hilarious because his brakes were so shitty, all I could smell was burning pads in the corners. He was also on 580 wear-rated all seasons. We went into the slowest turn together, his brakes faded, so I had to dance on my pedals to keep from smacking into him. He pointed me by to the left just as the car in front of him point him by to the right, so I just hammered it and passed them both, threading the needle. There were 5 cars in the remaining pack and I was entering the back section where Miatas shine. Didn't really see anyone in the mirrors until I reached turn one on the front straight. Great times!
