Damn, that sounds like an absolute blast and hoot! Makes me want to get to more events to build up my experience.

It was such a great weekend! I got to hang out with Anthony for a bit as we went around and took some photos! It was such a great event! My pictures should be up in the next week or so.

Yeah, I had a blast just soaking in the environment. It was awesome hanging with Danny and Devin and grabbing pics. I need to upload them somewhere. Car looked great Steven. I also loved that Mazda 2 that was going balls to the wall out there.

Ha! That guy in the Mazda2 is awesome. He slays some pretty impressive equipment and drivers in that car. He's fun to watch.

Here are just a couple of videos I took. This was the paddock garage, there were many more cars on the track and in the parking lots outside.

Here is the red group going out under the lights. That is one of Tony Stewart's rookie cars. That guy got quicker as the day went on. The engine sounded soooo an-gry!

Such a cool mix of cars at this event. Even a V8 Exocet.

He definitely is. Devin and Danny were telling me it's rare to see 4 wheels on the ground on turns.

How much did it cool down outside when the sun went down? I was getting killed in the sun when I was taking pictures.

The breeze stayed and it cooled off really well. It was a perfect night. A lot cooler than I was expecting.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you when I was there. How well did your cooling shirt work for you?

I never used it. I had an issue trying to correct the harness belts in the morning that I didn't have time to put on. I considered it, but because we had the garage and the nice breeze, I just left it in the bag. I should have just suited up at the hotel and ate my complimentary breakfast there, fully geared, staring at the other guests. Lol! There was a session or two I felt hot, but I am doing a better job of managing my nutrition and hydration during the events. I basically eat a pretty decent breakfast, staying away from greasy and spicy stuff. I ate foods that would stay with me longer, then just drank a lot of cold water throughout the day. Sometimes if I eat a big lunch at these events, I don't feel like driving in the afternoons. I began bringing fruit with me and staying away from snacks.

I did have a drop or two of sweat fall diagonally across my field of vision on the banked oval, which momentarily distracted me.

I had a ton of sweat on my back under my camera bag. It was brutal trying to get some good pics without the breeze going. It still looked awesome and I can only hope to get my feet wet with one of the events.

Anthony, the Atlanta Motorsports Park events are the best to start with IMHO. The track is lower speeds, perfect for Miatas, and the people that attend are more of the Jzilla regulars. The facilities are excellent and the atmosphere is more casual. You can basically just sign up, self-tech your car (bring the form or I can do it beforehand), and drive. You can rent a helmet at Discovery parts ($40, IIRC which can apply toward the purchase of a new one from them.) and I can make sure you get another Miata driver as an instructor, or myself if you prefer. I can assist with accommodations too. The AMP events are catered at an extra cost, there are softdrinks, water, snacks available all day as part of the entry. You literally don't have to bring anything with you except your car and tech sheet.

I will definitely have to look into that one. What day do they usually run that event?

The next one is October 22nd, which is a Sunday. I would also suggest AMP as a starter track! Such a fun track!
