phk, digging the Cibié H4 headlamps

bogart, I like both styles, the beliefs are insanely hard to find, nice score!! I have some bellof lights here, but have not found a set of the RS-Active to play with yet, waiting for a buddy to sell me his RS Active so that I can compare them both side to side. The light output looks to be a lot better on that bellof in your photo though.

    Hey Phat! Paul here.

Hey this is the type of Head light kit my Bro has. I was wondering if anyone else has them and if they still have the instruction Manual. He misplaced his and I would love to make an attempt to install them for him.

    Thanks

This was the next version of BSP's headlight kits for the Miata. This would take about 15 pounds off your Miata, make your Miata more aerodynamic, (no more barn door air-brakes) however the light output was said to be less than stock output due to the slope of the Miatas nose. Most people that have this kit have upgraded the lamps to something with a higher output to help fix that problem.

Some owners have left the acrylic lens off for a different look.

    Sorry this one^^^

Just received these beauties, first thought I had bought Zoom Elan taillights. But I found out they are actually Bodyshop Hayashi's. That is a good thing right? Only one problem, one of the trimrings is missing. Since I had mistaken this set foor the Zoom version, I thought this wouldn't be a big issue, since these are still being produced. Does anybody know of a way to get these rings?

Hey Patrick I have these exact set and I just have my rings rechromed. I don't think they are still produced. I was actually thinking of refitting the Zoom Elan lights and rings into these housing if I did not get a good price from the chrome shop.

I was thinking the same, but don't know if they would fit. But maybe there is a way to copy the other rings.

We could ask folks that have the Zoom for the lights dimension. I strongly believe it will fit. Maybe much cheaper than have someone make a set of rings. I can ask Ken of RetroModern if he can make a set and how much. I really want the rings to be squared cut.

Let me know what you come up with. Not in a hurry, these lights will be part of a new build. But since I'm in the process of buying a new house, that could take a while ;) I know these units use Nissan lights, and the Zooms don't.

I hear you. IIRC the Zoom lights are Nissin lol.

    Bumping this for reasons.
--PS NB tail options are hard to choose between--

Unrealted, for now, question... Has anyone with an NB (specifically NB2) converted their headlamps to LED. I'm quite interested. The plug and play kits look a little nicer than the mess you have to go through to install HIDs. SUPERBRIGHTLEDs has a nice kit, but I'm not too sure it would work with my intake setup. https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...aid/2214/5001/. Eventually, I think a full LED conversion would be nice.

Debating on baking/painting the headlamp buckets. While they are off the lenses will be refinished as well. I thought about color matching, but would hate it to turn out ricey. I think black buckets would stand out a little too much, though they look great on the ND. ND has a tiny hosing, which may be why. Yellow lenses do look pretty nice, I just don't know how that color would be for actual driving.

I looked into a different headlight housing setup, but there aren't any aftermarket ones that look fantastic.

Where did you get them rechromed, and how much did it cost?
