I agree with Harry. It's what I usually use. I will also use Valvoline Synthetic, which is off-the-shelf fluid at most autoparts stores, but I bleed more often with that.

So I took it out this morning to get inspected. And the result is.........

    Failed.

But I failed for the High Beam Indicator light not coming on.

I never use my high beams so how the heck am I supposed to know that? Anyways, I pull my LED headlights and put the stock bulbs back in. Pass. Now I need to just pay the registration and I am good to go. As far as the 02 sensor goes, I took it out on the freeway and hit it hard. Exited off the freeway and chilled at my work parking lot while watching the monitors on my scanner. All of the Cat stuff went from INC to Ok, so I went straight to Mr. Tire. Next year, I will get the COPs and maybe do the midpipe. No pictures but I am ecstatic. AC blows cold and car feels great.

Inspections make me nervous, especially sniffer tests. OBD2 less so. You pretty much know if you’re gonna fail or not.

Dropped off the Lotus seat to a fabricator along with stock seat rails. Having a fixed low mount bracket made that I can use for events. I do want to keep the slider bracket as well for when the wife gets the urge to take NB out for a spin.

Also, Martin sent me a care package. RSpeed Motor Mounts. Will try to get these in before Aug.

Got a text from the fabricator today. Should be picking up the bracket tomorrow morning. He sent me pictures of the progress and it looks like it sits really low. Will find out tomorrow. Sent off my current slider to Paul. He felt that he needed the adjustment more than I would and I was vice versa. Borrowed a driver side surfboard from SigmaX just to get it to the fabricator for final touches. Man do those things sit high. Will get pics of seat mount when I get it home.

So I picked up the mount from the fabricator and it sits pretty low. I also got news that my old RyokuRob bracket will be coming back to me. The way the fabricator made the mount for the seat looks like it can be used with side mount aftermarket seats also. Just would need to drill a hole in the side for the front mount. I wasn't able to get any pics yet as I have been extremely busy at work but it is in raw metal form. I should/will be painting it black in the next couple of weeks but I have been leaning towards moving it as I am getting the Rob bracket back. The fabricated mount would work in other situations for other people as well. I guess we will see.

So after watching Steven clean up his trunk, I decided to finally get mine in order. I did not take pictures of before but the plastic trim pieces were all beat and I had removed the spare tire. I was able to get some new to me trim pieces from Ethan's NB2 as he wasn't going to use them anymore. I also secured the trim with bolts instead of the plastic pieces that normally held them in. These hold them together a lot sturdier in my opinion. Maybe I will pick up some oversized plastic ones later. I put the spare tire back in along with the jack and used a piece of plexiglass I had laying around to give the trunk a flat surface. I also fixed the wire loom on the trunk lid as it was just hanging there. I was able to still fit 2 golf bags inside so I was happy. Here is the after:

Sometimes it’s the little stuff that makes it that much better.

So it has been a long while. I have some updates.

I had a problem with my HVAC lights at night being very dim when the fog lights were on. As soon as you turn them off, they would go back to normal. Voltage was normal when running. I decided to install LEDs into the cluster. Pretty easy job. Ordered the LEDs from Super Bright LEDs. Here are the installed pics. Kept the green light to match with the dash and original lighting.

You can see how bright the green is. Looks great at night.

So more updates. I can't log on to the site at work. Company is blocking it. Not sure why. But it does take me a little bit of time to get my updates loaded with the little pictures I have.

I purchased Garagestar Delrin blocks and installed them. I immediately felt a difference when I was going down the driveway. Car felt complete. No more squeaking from the hardtop. Well worth my $40.

So a box came in the other day.

I wonder what it could it be?

    BAM! Xidas!

Finally was able to splurge on some real nice coilovers. Found a great deal by chance so I swooped in on them. Slightly used but less than 5k miles.

Not many pictures of the install itself but I used the long bolt method.

Here is the car in the air:

Here are the Xidas on the car:

And here is the car finally on its wheels:

First impressions: freaking amazing. Rides like on a cloud. I am only 2 clicks away from full soft. Haven't even tried to go stiffer. Yet. Just enjoying the ride. I am sitting about 5.25" pinch weld. Just a tad higher than what I was before but I am good with that. Just need to get it aligned and keep driving it.

    Gorgeous!

Interested to hear your thoughts about how they feel. I like that ride height, too. Functional, but purposeful.

So even at the slightly raised height, it still turns like its on rails. I am finding myself pushing everyday turns and corners faster than I did before because it feels so easy. Bumps where I used to brace for impact are taken in stride. Even my wife noticed the difference and loves the way it rides now. So right now, this is probably the best modification I have done to this car. That's even including the hardtop and seats. It was such a game changer. I have even thought about going a little higher but we won't get ahead of ourselves.

I am so glad to read that! I wasn’t sure if they would pass the SWMBO test. ;) Good coilovers transform the car.
