How long did you leave the vacuum for?

I consider any amount of cold air beneficial in the Miata. The cabin is so small, you don't need it to be super strong, like your truck, to be effective. The truck has a huge cabin and engine to work on the A/C compressor, so it kind of needs to be stronger to cool everything down inside the interior. The '97 gear I put in my '92 isn't as cold as the original r12 was, but it still cools everything down fine, especially in this current weather. The Bimmer has a lot stronger A/C, but it's 23 years newer too, and bigger cabin to cool.

If you suffer from hotfoot on the right ankle, dregrease the tunnel underneath and lay in some self-adhesive heat shielding on the driver's side between the firewall and the shifter.

    I used this:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wear gloves, the metal edges are sharp. I sealed the edges with aluminum aero tape. It is more than enough to cover the area I described, I have some left over I have been meaning to place on the bottom of the fuel tank where the exhaust passes near to keep the fuel cooler and avoid a Tim issue.

No heat where the feet are. I let it vacuum for 30-40 minutes. I then closed off the gauges and let it sit for about 20 minutes and the needles did not move. It worked great. Before when I would have the AC on and the compressor kicked on, I would feel it when driving. Now, the car doesn't buck at all when it comes on and the compressor doesn't kick on and off constantly.

When mine kicks off, it does so for about 30 seconds or so, then stays on for a while.

Did the system leak, did you find and repair it?

That's what it looked like. When I was putting the adapters on the lines, one wouldn't stay on. It started kicking some dye out. I finally was able to get it to stick and it held.

There are inherent leaks in any system that heat and pressure cycles have control of.

Once I recover the system I replace the Schraeders.

So my Tein hood dampers came in yesterday. Got them installed. Had them on my other NB so I wanted to use them again. Install was so easy and no drilling required.

    After:

Debating on if I should remove the hood prop or not. Hood does go up a little further than stock.

These are one of my favorite mods on my car. Remove the prop, store it in the garage. Mine gave out after 10 years of heavy use, but gave me fair warning. I replaced them this year with another set I originally bought at R*Speed.

Yeah. I love the way it looks without the hood prop. Was wondering why I didn't do it sooner.

Picked up some new shoes for the NB. Flickr isn't working right now. Can't upload pictures. Gotta order tires for them to see if I will like them and keep them. I will get pictures up when I get a chance.

I found them on Amazon. I ordered a set for my previous NB from a shop that I used to go to. Didn't have that connection anymore.

So. Finally got the new shoes on. And I was able to log into Flickr. So without further ado,

    The purchase:

    After:

Not sure how I feel about them yet. The tires are 195/60/14 Falken Azenis RT615K. Wheels are 14x7 +23 Enkei RPF1s. Light as hell. Bucky was my inspiration for getting them. Not sure if I will hold onto them or let them go though. What do you guys think?
