Didn't realize that I didn't upload pictures of a couple of things I purchased.

Garagestar Clutch Line and Brake Master Brace:

You can see the Brace installed in this picture:

Also went back to a sliding seat bracket and sold the RyokuRob bracket. Yes, I sit a little higher but it is nice to be able to adjust the seat. Especially when removing the Hardtop.

I also removed the AEM intake and put the stock intake assembly back in. It's up for sale on the site. We will see what else comes off the car and goes up for sale.

That's it for now. Will look at putting new brakes and rotors towards March and I have to get a new Cat. CEL comes on every so often popping out the Cat code. Might as well do the O2 sensors while I am down there. It needs to get inspected in April anyways.

So I was able to replace the carpet in my NB with new(er) 2001 black carpet I got for free. Mine had holes for some reason from the previous owner that hid them under the floor mats. I also put a thin bead of clear silicone on the Vent Windows to help with the wind noise that it was getting. I was very surprised that it worked as well as it did. Of course, I didn't get any pictures of this as I was back and forth between my car and my neighbor's NB that he is stripping down.

I did not. I just put some slits and tucked it. If I was able to have a few days where I didn't need the garage, I would have though.

So long overdue update. Was replacing the O2 sensor on the NB but the damn thing did not want to come out. This is after Andy hitting the pipe with a torch and freezing the sensor. Nothing. Even hit it with my long ass SnapOn breaker bar. Still nothing. We dropped the exhaust and called it a day but I was not having it. I cut the top half of the sensor off and pounded an Easy Off onto it and did my Hulk Smash yell and got it to budge. Here are some pics of the aftermath.

Installed the new O2 sensor. Hopefully this helps me pass inspection and I can not give a crap about CELs for another year. Next year, I can deal with getting a new midpipe.

Will be installing the brake lines and clutch line soon. Trying to decide which set of brake pads I want to run. I am hoping that I will be able to make the JZilla event but work has informed me that I may have to go to the Philippines for 3 months. Not sure how I feel about that one.

    Crazy!!

That one looks like it never got anti-seize. Usually a sharp hit with a hammer on the O2 socket busts them loose. That reminds me of all the trouble I had swapping out the CA emissions exhaust manifold on the 10ae. Glad you had Andy for assistance.

If the CEL comes back, it will be likely the cat is toast, but I understand the low-hanging fruit approach (relatively). I've been happy with the midpipe I bought on sale from Moss, if it comes to that. They have two warehouses, I think one is in Richmond,VA. So. if you go that route it should arrive to you pretty quick with standard shipping.

I was looking at that one also. I almost jumped on it right away but I figured this might buy me a year so I don't have all the expenses at once. I also wanted to swap over to the Fab9 COP kit so I guess we see which way I go first. It was amazing watching it split open the O2 sensor socket and crowsfoot and not budge.

If you have an OBD2 scanner, once the systems all check "OK", get it tested immediately. A dying cat may read fine one day, then not the next, depending on the driving conditions.

That's what had been happening. It would be fine for 1k miles then come on. Then I would clear it and within 10 miles, come back on.

That's what mine did. The code was there when I bought it, cleared it before I drove it home. It was fine the entire way from Birmingham to Atlanta and the next week. Then it came back and would pop back on and stay on. I knew I couldn't get it registered like that, so I replaced the cat and 02 sensors.

Was there any rattling or anything loose in your cat that was replaced?

Nope. Everything was good. The PO told me what the code was and I confirmed it when I went to see it. He said it was the rear O2, but given the mileage, I knew better from previous experience. He didn't need to have the car smogged or inspected like we do, so it wasn't a big deal for him and I understood that. I got the same O2 inefficiency code on the 10ae, and I suspected it was the cat, but I replaced the rear O2 first to be sure.

Ok. I know mine had no rattling or anything loose. It will get done eventually. Just hoping that it won't be until next year.

So I will be installing my stainless brake lines soon and was wondering about which brake fluid to go with. I know I have used ATE Super Blue before with the help of Steven. This car is mainly a daily driver with some/a little spirited driving and probably even less track/autocross events. Just wanted to see what people thought.

ATE Typ200 is what I usually go by. Cheap, good properties, IMO the best value for an all-round car.
