I need to take some new engine pix.

    This one's kinda cool.

My setup is pretty simple. The no-electronics FM2 kit with the 2560, RC 550s, 2.5" exhaust, AEM wideband, and manual boost control. I use an old Obiwan Link ECU that I've had forever. It's yesterday's ECU, but I'm good at tuning it.

Will have to get a better pic.... but here's mine on FM's lift. ;)

    Details:

FM Big Enchilada + MAF delete
    Blouch upgraded turbo
    Hydra Nemesis 2.5

Should be a quick little monster when she gets a good tune. Looking for 270whp, and i'll have it.

    Future plans:

    1) modify intake to actually draw cold air
    2) meth injection
    3) Go Fast Bits G-Force boost controller

^ Nice setup you got for your MSM there. If I ever find a decent price on a used MSM turbo then I'm sending it to Blouch for the upgrade.

Thanks! She's a nice starting point at least.

I'd go BNR instead if you're bent on sticking with the stock turbo frame. ;)

FM stopped selling the Blouch turbos because there was a high failure rate. They either failed immediately, or lasted just fine. Near as i can tell, mine's been on my car for about 50k miles, so i guess i'm safe.

I miss this setup (and car) a lot:

Hanging around, waiting to be installed after the build:

Mildly Built Engine & '99 Head
    Garrett GT2871R
BEGi Log Manifold and Separated Gases Downpipe
    Enthuza 3" Dual Exhaust
    FM 19" Intercooler Kit
    RC 550cc
    Hydra v2.5
    Hallman MBC
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

I'm looking to go turbo in the next few months

I'm thinking of getting this turbo kit

What do you guys think? I'd love to see a link to a 1.8 ebay turbo build

Please God, no. You can't decently turbo a miata for less than $2500 properly. I'm building an ebay turbo kit as well, but there are some things you cant skimp on. Electronics and BOV for starters. If you want to go ext gated don't cheap out on that either. Some manifolds, turbos, intercoolers, piping, ect is ok to go cheap on, but do research on which ones actually last.
