I've been a strong...but silent critic of Rota's for as long as I can remember. If friend's talk about buying Rota's or if I'm asked what wheels to recommend, I'm usually the first to discourage them and recommend buying JDM surplus wheels instead (which by the way we have a lot this side of the world ) But these wheels man, they're hard to resists, ehehe

So I'm seeing this a little late. Sorry about that.

I have to say that, when I saw the first engine photo, I thought you had a dirty filter on the camera or something. It just looks hazy. I laughed when the 'Clean' photo came up.
Maybe dirty engines are just a little blurry...like Bigfoot or Nessie. lol

    Car's lookin' great!

I'm glad you got rid of the kit, it looked kinda ricer to me. Great looking car! How do you like the short shifter? What's next?

Found this set of Konig 15x7 0 offset online and bought it.

The RK-R 15x8 0 offset was a bit too aggressive considering I have to slam the car to get a decent fitment/look. Besides, tire rubbing was extreme so decided to perhaps archive these wheels and try the Konig. But, the Konig is 4x114 so I had to change the PCD to 4x100.

Instead of drilling new holes for the 4x100, fabricated machined washers were hard pressed and welded to the old holes
    front

    back

test fit on the wheel studs

    with the wheel nuts

    near perfect alignment

Now ready to be painted. They will be colored gun metal (no polished lip) to mimic the Watanabe

Seriously amazing work with the 114 to 100 conversion, I've never seen it done like that before.
