Went to a local shop's open house today, just down the complex from Long Road Racing. They were showing off their new equipment, including a dyno. I made a pull for shits and giggles, I am happy with the results!

Not too shabby for an untouched engine with 193k on it. comes out to about 173hp/175tq at the crank. probably could have made more if they strung it redline around 6800 rpms.

Not much to report. I scooped up a set of Racing Dynamics 15x7 +25 wheels and wrapped them in sticky tires for this season's track day dance card. I replaced the FR brake caliper bracket because of a nagging brake drag issue and it fixed the problem. Local e30 guys are a great resource for parts.

I fixed a few corroded connections, so I no longer have the sporadic 'ricer flash' when I signal left. The car has been a pleasure to drive since the brake repair. I drove it to Charlotte and back last week and it was great on the freeway.

I have offered it in trade, but plans changed. I will buy the other car outright. I will sell this one soon after that happens, I suspect.

I developed a small coolant leak from a smaller hose coming off the throttlebody (TB) this week. The 'correct' way to replace this hose would be to remove the intake manifold because this hose terminates at the back of the head. I already have the hose, as the PO left me a box of new hoses he intended to install. So, me being me, this is a great opportunity to replace all the coolant hoses under there (5 of them), have the intake manifold tanked (cleaned), clean the TB, reseal the IM, TB, and change the coolant. I will also be replacing o rings on the oil down tube (sort of a PCV system) know affectionately as "The Bitch Tube" because it is spring-loaded and goes between the IM and the block. I already know the tricks to do this, but if the o rings are incorrect, or roll, it can cause some pretty massive oil leaks.

My track season begins in about 3 weeks so I guess all this is a good thing.

While the car is down, it will also be a great time to have my oil cooler lines rebuilt. They sweat a little and this has been on my 'to do' list for a while.

I also have to change the transmission fluid, change the oil, oil filter, air filter, all four rotors, race pads, and bleed the hydraulics. All I already have accounted for and have the necessary parts sitting in storage...because we are experiencing record_low_temps. FML.

Pics will be forthcoming when I start this, AFTER it warms up!

Got the same weather as him. He's about 20-30 minutes from me. I'll quit messing the thread up now.

No garage, just a large, two car carport. I have begun removing stuff here and there, as long as I can stand before my fingers get too cold. I will probably start in earnest tomorrow or Sunday.
