Here's my pics from MATG XXI.

First some highlight pics of Betty.

DSLR Pics: But I'm a total noob and didn't pay attention to what mode the camera was in (no flash mode), so some of these are out of focus and most of them are kind of washed out.

And finally, the pics that Roadster7 took. All credit for these go to Roadster7. I can't say it enough how much I appreciate some quality pics of Betty. As well as some of her next to his super clean '94 M, Moby.

Got some videos I need to edited and upload too. Probably be a bit before I get them all taken care of.

I had a fantastic experience this year. Ended up meeting and speaking with plenty of people this time around. Rick of Roadster Tech, Maksim, aka Roadster7, Doppelgδnger, Tom of Turbo Tom youtube fame, and Maxime of Rev9 to name a few.

Like I already said, the driving this year was more about quality than quantity. The clean run from the Overlook to Tapoco alone made the weekend as far as driving goes.

But, one of my growing past times while at the Gap is sitting at Gravity Cavity and watching what comes and goes by. Had a fantastic time doing that with Doppelgδnger this year. If you're reading this, man, yeah, we should definitely make some Win/Fail signs for next year.

No video yet, but here's the swag I picked up at MATG XXI.

Went a bit overkill on shirts this year. Even got a "goofy fucking hat."

I heard through the grapevine that Alex, aka Scratch N Sniff, was going to show up Sat. It was great to finally meet Alex. I have picked up a few items here and there from him through my friend Kyle. Told him I was Kyle's friend, "Kyle who?..." And told him my friend's last name, instatly knew who I was talking about and then gave me a big ole hug.

Alex had a ton of great parts on display and some really good JDM bits too. My eye was initially drawn to the stack of Road&Ster magazines he had. But then I spotted something I knew I had to have. A Eunos 5310 cargo bag as well as a JDM Eunos owner's manual.

My timing was pretty good too, as once I asked what the bag and manual were being sold for, Roadster7 walked up to pick up the bag to look at it. He jelly. But it doesn't surprise me as from the little bit of time we got to hang out and talk, we have pretty similar tastes as far as Roadster items.

And yes, the owner's manual has those great little manga like illustrations.

I haven't flipped through the entire manual yet, but this caught my eye and is something I didn't know.

Seems Mazda intended for you to use the spare tire hold down wingnut as the grounding point for jump starting. Which makes sense as the negative battery terminal is tucked so far into the quarter panel with a battery in place. Still, what a neat factoid/bit of trivia that I didn't know about before.

Anyways, I need to wash Betty and change her oil. She got dirty on the trip home and turned 190k miles on her odo 100 miles from home. Gonna take care of that stuff this weekend.

Stole that bag right from under my nose! Haha...

Thanks for posting photos of the manual, it's so cool to leaf through old Japanese stuff like that.

This manual is too Cool! And old dogs do learn new tricks cause I didn't know this jump start shortcut either. I'll need to pass this along at the next tech day.

Wait...is this saying you shouldn't run low offset wheels and wide tires?

I'm just going to pretend it's Mazda saying give the other guys a chance, that it'd be the sporting thing to do.

I'm waiting on response for Scratch-n-Sniff for a hand-shake deal on my replacement rear fascia and support. Some things are not as they seem, it seems! Lesson learned!

Alex should be "back" so to speak. His day job takes him out of town some times and like many Miata parts suppliers, it's something he does on the side. When I spoke to him at MATG and asked what's the best way to get in touch with him, he said facebook. So give him a holler on there.

This is your fault, Roadster7, you should take responsibility.

Please don't. I already have a small list of Miata items I plan to purchase before the end of this year... unless it's the OEM "Eunos" shifter trim ring.

Which, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't actively searching for that yesterday after I got that text from you. But, I have been curious about Buyee, and figured the sunglasses holder would be a good item to finally try out the Buyee service over.
