Oh, forgot to mention that it's an Exedy stage 1 organic kit. I've had it (and the other related seals) since two years back thinking the throwout bearing or pilot bearing was making a horrible racket. But by the time the clutch showed up through the mail, the noise went away and stayed gone. So I shelved the kit for the time being. I thought I already had everything I needed since I had the kit and and seals sitting around.

Nope. Ended up getting 3 quarts of Redline MT90, blue thread locker, anti-seize, gasket sealer, a slave cyliner, some exhaust gaskets, a lower shifter boot, a front O2 sensor, and a spare flywheel for resurfacing. Always seems to be something... or things.

I know what it is......read some of his other posts in other threads. He hints at it.

It is indeed Japanese cardboard. Time to pop it open.

By now those that don't know, likely know what this beautiful piece is.

And if you don't know what it is by now, you have not been paying attention to the happenings of the Miata community. Rev9 did a group buy on the Garage Vary tailights, and I got in on it.

Oh my stars and garters, it is so damn pretty. And the smell, that smell of of freshly laid fiberglass, it's a bit intoxicating. And now, some closer pics of things.

I can't think of too many pictures of the tail lights being shown on their own. So I had to take some. Every thing just looks so damn minty and new.

    And the backup light.

While I was at it I added a couple of small items on my order with the lights. Sazaire dressup kit and Zeromotive A/C button and trim ring. I may sell the ignition cover and center console cover of the Saizere kit as I ordered it solely for the odometer button cover and glove box lock ring since I already have the ignition and center console pieces in Betty. I bought the Saizere kit the first time through Rod of Tetsuya Garage and it didn't include the glovebox ring. And I have seemingly misplaced/lost the odometer button cover as I've looked everywhere in my house and can't find it. As for the Zeromotive bits, ordered mostly for the trim ring, but I'm going to see if the button will work with the Retro Modern fan knob.

Hoping to get the panel painted soon. Need to go around and get some quotes from a couple of body shops I trust. To be honest, I thought I'd likely never own the Garage Vary lights. I mean, they're so damn rare (well, less rare now, ha) and expensive. When I bought Betty I didn't have any where near the intentions I have for her now. And now, here I am with Betty, she hasn't had stock headlights for over a year now and she'll soon have non-stock tail lights too.

Also, I know, I know, I need to get her sitting lower. All in due time, as I am waiting for 949 to release the tecnas and my bank account to recover after spending so much on Betty so early in the year.

Your post made me so excited to get my GV tails. Seeing some high quality shots of the individual parts made me even more confident in the quality of the gv tails.

If you don't mind me asking, how long quickly did you get your tail lights? I want to get a bit of a gauge on the time it takes to receive the tails after paying. I was the third person to put a deposit down during the group buy, but I took my time when it came to paying the full amount.

Sorry for the slight thread jack.

Well, I was 43rd in line on the group buy but paid the balance immediately once Rev9 sent the balance invoice out. Shipment notice was on April 1st, delivery completed April 4th.

That's a bit reassuring for me. I've set a bit of a "deadline" on a certain portion of my Miata build, and I've become nervous that I wouldn't be getting my taillights in time.
The crazy fast shipping means I'm pretty much waiting for the parts to get to Rev9 from GV. With the number of people participating in the GB, I could only imagine GV is pumping out the tails at a steady pace.

    Thanks JamieH!

Was over at a buddy's place while he was putting his Z31 back together. Hoping he gets it back together this week in time for C&C in Raleigh. Anyways, I thought Betty was looking fine sitting in front of his house.

I'm usually not one for pics of cars on grass. But the light seemed just right at the time, thought I might as well grab a couple of pics.

Also, should have the GV panel back from paint this week. They've been busy and I've not rushed them on it. I never want to rush a paint shop on anything if it can be helped. The more time spent on paint the better in my opinion. Should have it installed in time for C&C in Raleigh this weekend.

Car is cool man! I haven't seen much of this, but I think the GV tails will be a nice touch.
