    6y Mazda's Miata Rescue

So. just got home with the new belle. Needs some cosmetic work, don't mind the questionable body kit the PO installed...First project will be cleaning up the body to prep for paint. Then gonna choose a color and plasti-dip it.

Before that i will do an oil change, trans fluid change, brake fluid change. diff fluid change? gonna check all the hoses and replace any that look like are old and cracking. Gotta adjust the headlights cuz the beams are all out of wack. Then gonna replace the dingy interior light to a bright white LED.

Going to the DMV tomorrow after work to transfer the title and get plates for it. Then giving the car a good wash.

Here are crappy night pics for now

Can't wait to clean up that engine bay. Time for degreaser and some elbow grease.

So i got a chance to inspect the exhaust the car came with and it is an Racing Beat catback...it doesn't sound bad either

Also found the spark plugs in cylinder 1 and 4 have a bit of oil so looks like i'll need a new VC gasket.

Operation unrice the Miata had a successful start today. Removing the sideskirts revealed some bad news. The PO installed the skirts in order to hide (not fix) the rear quarter panel RUST on both sides. But the car looks a hell of a lot better now even with the rust. I can get that taken care of once i get the car ready for paint. Found the front fenders in Triangle, VA, which i will be picking up Monday for a good deal, much cheaper than i had planned on spending buying new. Now i just have to find an OEM front bumper.

Yeah i sprayed it with some Krylon Rust Tough Enamel for now until i can cut it out and weld in new metal. From what i've read apparently rust in that area is pretty common on these.

So upon even further exploration underneath the car, i noticed orange springs on the front and rears, then noticed the Racing Beat brand on them...so now i know the car is lowered on RB lowering springs.
