Correct transponder ignition key for my 2001 Miata

Hi all noob here, looking for the correct transponder ignition key for my 2001 Miata SE. I've seen plenty of them on Ebay and Amazon but for years 2002 and 2003, does anybody know if they're compatible with the 2001

IIRC, the '01 is the oddball year and not the same as the following models. Check online Mazda dealer sites for keys or call you local dealership.

I went through something similar with my wife's Lexus. I found a dealer online out of Texas that would cut a factory key with the chip in it based off my VIN and proof of ownership. It was a bit pricey, but cheaper than the local dealer by a lot.

Maybe you can find something similar.
