    the SlampMobile

I'm adding another build thread here. Because this is a nice place to be. I really enjoy hanging around here. Cool people and a board that someone has put alot of work into.

First, why the name SlampMobile. Mostly because my wife tells me I'm a Slamp and what she says is the truth.
Slamp means in Norwegian => a person that is slow moving with heavy steps.
My dictionary comes up with => hoon, slob, bum, lout.

It's not the Gimp-meaning of the word that you find here

I know it screams for a set of nice wheels and a front lip.
What else do you recommend when it comes to look?

Slampen, Nice BRG you have there. I like to see them with the black interior. And, I like the wheels you have on now.

BTW, do you have all the side marker lights in orange? Our rear marker lights are red in the states.

    Inspection...

As stated else-where I delivered the car today for a bi-yearly inspection.

    I'm really excited.
Things with the car I know can be an issue.
-Parking brake => I would like it to be better. Dont know if its sufficient.
-Brakes => They can fail on not braking even.

And last and the biggest concern.
I got Eibach springs on it. And its not approved by the officials.
Since my Mx5 got the max weight values that exceeds the values of the TUV approval of the springs, I do have a challenge.

Worst case I have to get original springs and get it approved with them.

    How did the MOT go?
I ran down that road quite stupidly, ending with the response «the only way you're going to get this approved is godkjent sψknad om ombygging to get the numbers changed».

    What MOT?

Was to early. Has to be done between 1. july and 30. november.
Dont know why I thought it was by end of june.

    Anyway would not have passed.
Had scyrocket high co2. 1.15 something. About ten times legal value afaik.
And corrosion on a brake-pipe. Right side at the front.
Guess I change all brake pipes. Question is what else brake related should I change.

Difference on my car compared to your previous, is that mine is a mx5 and yours was a Miata.
But mine has managed to get the max weight values from a Miata.
I have a request pending to Japan to get some documents. We will see.

    Maybe its time.

I have had these seats around for a year, or two. The seats are from a Vauxhall vx220(aka Opel Speedster). The same seats you find in Lotus Elise.

The driver seat is worn out.
Note self=>I need to remove the rest of the paper from my backwindow.

The seat from the other side.

So maybe its time to get these mounted into the car.

Your car looks very nice as is.
I like the wheel without the center, so I'd prefer to see the others removed.

They came with the seats. Think they are a copy of some low seating uber kewl ones.
Guess there will be some adjustments. Think that is needed even if you order them from da internet.

Needed to do something with my shift-boot.

Here is what met me. Yes, all rubber was cut away. Was not me.

Old boot to the left, frame in the middle, new to the right. I dont know if this is the orginale frame. It's what I have to use, so I use it.

    On frame

How I had to leave it. I will remove that bling-bling.

Showing the SlampMobile a little love... I approve! Are you going to change out the shift turret oil while you have her apart?

Also, did you get replacement shifter boots?

    And the missing insulation?

Makes it quieter in the cabin.
