Changed the fluids in my diff, trans, and rebuilt the shifter today.

Right on the exhaust, why u do dis

It didn't start out so good.

But what can I do? Motul goes in.

The color alone of the draining transmission fluid scared me.

Synchros on a stick...lol. The drain pan looked more like I was panning for gold.

I'm just gonna pretend I didn't see that

Amsoil MTG goes in. (Project G doesn't carry Motul anymore, or anything miata related really)

    Pretty pieces

    Both boots were shot

Empty and sludgy inside. My brand new turkey baster went to waste. :/

Nice, new white plastic and turret full of fluid.

That's the end. Car shifts smoother/nicer now, I expect it will get better after the amsoil works it's way all over the transmission as well. You might be surprised to hear that I've never actually had problems with the shifter, transmission or rear end, despite the pictures. This is the first time I've changed these fluids since purchasing the car, I lagged pretty bad because I couldn't decided what I was doing, but I'm glad to have it done now.

This came in the mail today. It's a replica piece from that one YJA vendor that sells all the M2 replica carpet console pieces. I thought it was strange that it came with black bolts, while my real 1028 console came with polished bolts, but has a black ring. So I swapped bolts between the two of course.

So I wasted no time pulling our the mismatched black one. You can see the finish is quite different.

As is the thickness, so your allen bolts won't drive down as far.

But the finished product is fantastic. All of my metal match now. The real M2 1028 console will probably go up for sale since all of it is in my closet now. I guess I need to decide if I'm buying the TRAP tombstone or not, because it would make sense to sell the 1028 tombstone and console together.

There's an impostor masquerading as me on instagram, who will remain nameless. Actually there were a few different people logged into the same instagram, all posting things as me since I refuse to get one.
