    Yeah you parked next to me. My car is a bit of a work in progress at the moment. Wish I had time to say hi, but when I noticed your car I was on my way out. Really clean. Reminds me of mine pre-accident when I had my woodgrain.

    We will meet eventually, im down south way too much.

    So, I've been contemplating whether or not to do this mod. I thought it would clash with my interior and was waiting to buy a complete black interior, but I seem to have fallen for my tan interior. It's such a rare part and I didn't want it sitting around in a box any more, it deserves to have it's time in the sun. It actually matches quite well with my black floor mats and the black on the dash. My camera-phone and the current lighting didn't agree.
    You can always use the original M2-1028 transmission tunnel carpet as a template to have something custom trimmed in tan carpet. I've got the M2-1001 carpet in my car (which is identical except for silver shift trim ring instead of black) but at 20+ years old it's showing its age. I'm thinking about having a new one made to freshen things up using the old one as a template. A trim shop will have the necessary sewing machines to bound all the edges exactly like the OEM item. I've read that the rear parcel shelf carpet could be a good source of carpet for this. You might be able to find a used tan carpet for not much money. Alternatively, most trim shops should be able to source a suitable carpet to match.

    The best thing about the carpet console is that you can really lean on it to support your body weight when getting in/out, which really helps when you have deep race buckets. But yes, it does make the interior feel way more roomy and streamlined. I relocated my fuel filler door release lever to inside the trunk to clean things up even more.

    Ah okay, I recognized it on the way out because of the mismatched panels. I can't wait to see it looking pretty again.

    That's a future plan I've been thinking about: grab a tan shelf carpet and hand that and the 1028 carpet over to my sister. I might have to wait until it's my birthday or something though.

    It is nice to be able to use the transmission tunnel to support my weight, especially since I've recently noticed that my knees are starting to act up I also noticed how hot that trim ring can get after driving around today! I should have expected that, being connected like a heatsink and all.

    If it's tan then it matches

    Went to the Garage Woolery Summer Tech Day and installed some Super Now tie rod ends I picked up from a local KINOD member for $100. They help with bumpsteer tremendously! I can't express how much better the front end feels. Now I need an alignment though.

    Also took a couple minutes to install this Racing Beat rear subframe brace, since us early 91's don't have any sort of factory rear end bracing or tabs to even mount the majority of aftermarket pieces (I really wanted a PPF brace ). So, I took it as luck when this popped up for sale locally at $30 and picked it up a couple days ago. In other news, the Racing Beat exhaust is seriously heavy.

    I stopped by my friend Sonny's place and had him align my car to get ready for Laguna Seca. It took a few tries to get right (car was pulling to the left), tires pressures playing a bad part, but it ended up being that the garage had a compound slope. Now I gotta go back and have him give it another once over, but here's a pic that JonB took anyway

    My car is way too high (949 Racing says so!), max camber for the front left was 0.8 so I ended up with a very mild setup. I would love for it to be a little lower of course, but I have to save for decent coilovers. ^^;

    Also, my radiator seemed to pop on the way to school yesterday. Was driving when I small a very small amount of smoke rising from the end of my hood, it continued all the way to my destination. An inspection revealed coolant collected around the edge of the top of the radiator, no noticeable drips from the cap or hose, but I could see where coolant had spilled off into the headlight brackets and under the car on both sides, looks like I lost maybe a gallon of fluid. It didn't leak again on the way home, nor did it today. So it seems to me the plastic end tank (on top) separated from the aluminum core? Guess I should try to replace it before Laguna Seca in 2 weeks.

    Damn, I love how the Azenis look on your car, lol. Lowering with quality suspension is a must, but I think you should take care of that radiator before MRLS..

    Also, when are you getting a front lip? lol

    Got a quote from a couple people on a radiator already

    Etikoner, I would have one already if it weren't for the bumper that arrived yesterday! My phone died right as I was unwrapping it. But I have pics of the box if you want to see that, haha.
