    Mindsuckers 1990 Miata

Hi! New to this site so thought i might share some of my build here too

Got my Miata in summer of 2010 and it was pretty much stock at that time

Never really liked the wheels i've got with the car and thought 16's where way to big so got myself a set of Lenso BSX to replace them and some K-sport coilovers to get the car closer to the ground.

Also bought a GV lip, some various shiftknobs, and other small stuff over the year.

Then after a long search over the net for a couple of years I finally found a pair of mazdaspeed seats in great condition and best of all, they where located in sweden pretty local to me!

Close there after i saw this Mazdaspeed D-cut on Rev9 so got that too

Then by the end of 2012 I've got the car to the workshop to replace the clutch (wich been very slippery since i've got the car) and on my way home the engine started to whine like hell! Almost sounded like there was a supercharger under the hood but without the power.
Start digging in the engine bay when I got home and found this little fella down at the crankshaft.

It's supposed to keep the timing market plate in place but somehow snapped off and made some nasty scratches on my timing belt.

I didn't had any experience (or money for that matter) at all wrenching on a engine and at the time so parked it up and decided to take care of my leaking brakes before putting it in winter storage.

Found the leak in the right rear caliper so decided to rehaul all calipers around

And a week later they where ready to go back on the car again.

And with the brakes back on it was time to roll it into the garage to rest over the Winter

During the winter I was studying the net to learn how to replace a timing belt and over time I decided to rehaul the whole cylinder head instead. Started to collect all the parts for the rebuild and also got a few other goodies on the way.

Got the head back in the bay

And all is back in place again! Started up at the first try, timing was perfect and the engine was running great. I felt like a champ!

Also got all the goodies for the interior in the car

Replaced the softtop with a hardtop and mounted up the Mazdaspeed seats properly.

With the car running and looking greater than ever I just enjoyed it over the summer but later on decided to put it back to stock, store it over the winter and then have it out for sale when the spring arrived.

The reason was i traded my daily Nissan juke for this

Enjoyed the hell out of my Toybaru over the winter but after a while i really started to miss my old miata. Couldn't resist to jump on the GV tail light groupbuy on Rev9 and after the full payment was done I decided the Miata was a keeper! So Started all over again collecting some parts to get it back to its former glory.

Switched the R888's over to the enkei's earlier in the week so this is how the car stands today

Got some minor maintence things to take care of over the summer and hopefully don't end up getting rid of it again!

Was planning to spend this evening with mounting my Revlimiter gauges and Kg Works instrument panel but couldn't find that damn glue for the needle stoppers so never got finished with that.

Anyway, got some teaser pics before I continue tomorrow!

That Kg works panel really is a work of art! (gauges to off course!) Really like the depth it makes to the gauges.

Also spent last day helping my stepdad replacing the rear shocks on my mom's volvo and then we mounted the new exhaust system on my car. LOVE the new sound it makes! Will probably be even better once I get a header and the de-cat pipe on!

There's nothing better than a KG Works cluster with Rev's custom faces.

It's more than ok, it is a piece of history of this thread anyway!
    Looks right at home there!

Finished the installation of the gauge panel today

Will try taking another picture at night since it reflects EVERYTHING in daylight. All gauges seems to work like they should except the tach wich seems to be a bit slow. It shows the right numbers eventually but it take some time for it to get there so might have pushed on the needle a bit to hard (at first it didn't move at all) so will try to loose it up a bit.

Also need to source a new gauge hood since the tabs broked (Think they already where broken though) and got a minor crack in one of the screwholes so now it rattles like f**k :')

Picked up a long awaited package today! Purchased it in middle of march and it finally reached sweden today.

Really got sold on this holed version instead of the normal nardi style.

And a pic of the current interior. Quite different then the last one but I think i can get used to this too! Just need to get rid of that stereo and tidy up some other bits.

Gratulerer with the wooden wheel! I have the wooden Nardi Classic in black —*it is awesome on long trips. Wood rules.

I'm loving that steering wheel. Looks great. Good luck with the shorty console.
