    Review: 2000 Mazdaspeed Jacket

I know we generally do car parts and such, but this is a pretty cool item I figured I would share.

I got this back in 2000 at the Tokyo Auto Salon, I wandered up to the Mazdaspeed booth, starstruck and in awe of all the cars and parts at the show. I spied a blue Mazdaspeed Jacket hanging up at the Mazdaspeed booth. I asked them about it and they said it was the last one they had. So of course I had to pull out some Yen and buy it. It was actually cold that day so it worked out great. I was trying to convice my friend to buy a Top Fuel Jacket I found at the Top Fuel Booth, but he was too busy buying other car parts. He is still kicking himself now. Only thing is it only gets cold enough in Florida a couple days out of the year, so its rare that I get a chance to wear it. Pulled it out of the closet today and it still looks brand new, not bad for a 14 year old Jacket.

Here it is from the 2000 Mazdaspeed catalog, item# 1 showing in Navy Blue.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but you get the idea. Here is the front.

Here is the backside, nice huge Mazdaspeed logo across the back.

The jacket is really nice too, multilayer, with zipper and velcro, and pull ties in the center if you want to make it tighter, and it even has a hoody you can roll up and tuck up under the collar when not in use.

Collar label shows its genuine Mazdaspeed gear.

The front has this nice badge on the front, its actually made of some kind of rubber?

    here is a close up.

Too bad they don't make cool gear like this anymore.

Here are some photos from the show (Mazdaspeed Booth) I burned through like 11 rolls of film that day, yeah I said "film" back then it was 35mm, not digital as that was still rather new and expensive. But I have a nice photo album to show to my kids now, hahhaa
