John your avatar needs a Mazdaspeed wing now.
It's time to update this thread with actual build stuff, since I'm actually building my car!
Phatty and I have a good friend named NinjaJeff (who does all of Phat's work, BTW) here in Tampa and he built my new motor last year. It's been decked, slightly bored with Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, race bearings and ARP studs. To that I've added a 1.6L Protege cam cover (custom powdercoated here in Tampa), Maruha cam gears and a super-custom REVLimiter oil cap. Also, I have gone to socket cap fasteners for the exposed front and topside bolts, but there are still some I have to replace, such as the cam gear bolts.
I've installed the Speedstar coolant reroute kit and plugged & capped the front water neck outlet.
Since I'll be boosted, I'm adding a SuperMiata harmonic damper which requires going to the NA 1.8L water pump and alternator pulley. I contacted GarageStar, but they are currently out of stock of silver billet water pump pulleys. They were, however, able to provide an alternator pulley.

I hated the appearance of the alternator - looked like it had been submerged in salt water for years - so, I took it to a local alternator/starter shop and had them disassemble it. I took the end caps to my powdercoater and he put the same red crinkle on them as he had done to the valve cover. Once done, I took the caps and the new pulley back to the alternator/starter shop for reassembly. A few hours later they called me to say that it would be a shame to reassemble it because the exposed internals and bolts were pretty shitty looking and that they could easily media blast everything and repaint the coil assembly. I'd have to say they did a great job!

I thoroughly cleaned, painted and clear coated the intake manifold and when I got around to putting on the throttlebody, it looked nearly as bad as the alternator - gray, pittted and just plain ugly. So, I took an afternoon and disassembled the TB and it's components and took a wire brush and steel wool to it. After a good cleaning, I masked off the individual components and the mating surfaces before painting and clear coating them. Once dry, I reassembled everything and replaced the stock bolts with socket cap fasteners.
My front subframe needed replacement, so I'm going with the tubular subframe from V8 Roadsters (thanks, Tim!).
I want the tubular A-arms too, but a sort build schedule and so much more to buy to complete the build, it may have to wait.
I never think to take 'before' pictures, but I wish I had. I have a long-time friend that does custom interior uphostery and restorations - real high-end stuff for Ferrari, Lamorghini, Bentley and jet aircraft.
I brought him a bunch of stuff for color-matched dyeing, including: a complete 93LE carpet set w/bulkhead and parcel shelf pieces, 2 pairs of LE floormats, 2 pairs of plastic seat belt tower trim, a pair of LE door cards, 1 pair of LE upper door armpads and 1 pair of black upper door armpads (To keep in reserve) and a pair of stock LE armrest/door handles.
**EDIT** - I forgot to mention that my buddy recovered my door cards and then dyed them to match everything else. That's why there's no visible door handle bolt holes. Also the arm pad on the driver's door was originally black and dyed to match.
Additionally, I brought him my black RS products center console to have the arm rest pads and boots color-matched and a Redline products leather gauge hood cover for installation.
For color matching purposes, I furnished him a like-new 93LE boot.
Everything came out great!
I forgot to bring him my Nakamae door pulls, but the color is a dead-on match!
These are NOT the dyed carpets!
Interior bits test-fitted.
I gave him a spare set of LE seats to recover, once I buy the skins.

Pretty cool update. Funny that just 2 hours ago I left my valve cover at Procoat and talked to Phat. He said that you take your stuff there. Now I see the evidence of their work in miatas. Looking great.
