5,000 rpm - there be torque here!
When will we reach ONE MILLION MIATAS ?
I was thinking about this the other day. With it's 25th Anniversary, and the much anticipated release of the new ND model, I wonder, how close is Mazda to selling it's One Millionth Miata? And, what type of fanfare will that event have?
This seems like the "Year of Miata"!

2,000 rpm - light wheelspin, no bog here!
Here are the numbers through the end of 2011:
421,107 NA
276,778 NB
203,556 NC
At least two of the numbers are static.

I would imagine we are already there, or if not then right on the edge!

i thought mazda said in one of their reports recently that we are around 920,000 but not positive. might have been a while but the nc isn't going to sell well for the next year since everybody that is into miatas and not just buying a cheaper roadster, would atleast want to wait for the nd. I personally thing the nd will be the one to reach 1 million but you never know. i hope mazda puts up a thing when they get really close and update around every day with how many miatas got sold worldwide.

I wonder how many of those NAs are still in existence? Seeing those numbers makes me realize and understand why you still see so many NAs out there though!

6,000 rpm - mere mortals would shift
My guess is in the neighborhood of 65-75% of NAs produced are still on the road. A further 10-15% probably have passed on their parts to those still on the road.
