DIY Jaguar E Type Speaker Cover Install

Thanks to 71/72/73 Bacon I now have a set of oem Jaguar E Type (xke) speaker covers. They look very similar to the miata oem ones except it has a chrome ring around it.

Here is a step by step as to how I accomplished what I did.

Step 1. Remove the speaker covers from the car door panels. My write up is specifically for a 90-93 interior.

Step 2. Remove the grill over the speaker cover panel. To do this I used a small hose pick with a U shape. It popped right off with 0 damage.

Step 3. Measure where you need to drill. Then drill and place the speaker covers in and tighten.

Step 4. After the speaker covers are installed you need to cut off a large portion of the stud. If you do not trim the studs it will punch a nice hole in the speakers. I just used some bolt cutters and some sand paper to sand everything down nicely.

Step 5. Install them in the car and reap the benefits of more shiny chrome.
