Carbon clutch! I have driven one of these, not the exact brand but yes OEM like feel. I guess you get what you pay for. Will be my next combo definitely.
If you're staying NA for sure > 1.6 light weight flywheel and 1.6 exedy stage two clutch.
Turbo Keep stock flywheel, and go with the clutch from 949 racing. ( I see they removed it) :/
I'd stay away from FM's stuff. Most everything they sell has a story to go along with it.
ACT. Exedy only if you plan to stay under 200hp.
Hmmm... Really wanted to stay with a $300 clutch to be honest, but win all these reviews of the ACT... Damn. Might have to get one. But chances are pretty high I'll be under 200hp for a good while. At least another year or so. Getting out of the military soon so I don't have much funds to play around with. I have 90% of the parts required for the ITBs, I still need the megasquirt PNP2, and some injectors and some other odds and ends, but for the most part I've got most of them.
I also need to get all the parts needed for the 99 head swap as well. Tired of ticking HLAs, plus I can use a MSM cam!
I'm running a 1.6 oem exedy with a 7lb fidanza flywheel and its awesome with a stock 1.8
Nope revs up nice and quick too
I think I read somewhere that a lot of the autox guys do it. I like that the car doesn't bog down when the ac is on
I have the Exedy stage 1 on my 96, and it can get loud every now and then. I would go with FM1 or FM2 happy meal. I mean the Exedy is not a bad clutch but there are better clutch kit's out there.

I purchased an ebay fx stage 1 lightweight clutch and flywheel combo last year . Installed with a 1.8 motor I purchased. The pilot bearing froze up inside the flywheel and the clutch chatter before thst I could not stand . I purchased the flyin miata stage 1 kit with 13lb flywheel. The flywheel is nice and quiet and I do not have any clutch slipping issues what so ever. It was worth the 750.00 shipped and I wish I would of done that the first time. I have put about 3000 miles on happymeal and still runs strong as day it was installed.
