Abarth Roadster Rendering as ND Roadster

Abarth Roadster rendering previews a Mazda MX-5-based roadster for some markets

Rendering by Malaysian designer Theophilus Chin

Theophilus Chin has created a virtual roadster, based on the Mazda MX-5 that could be sold in some markets with Italian badge.

While we already know Alfa Romeo won’t be getting its own version of the Japanese model, it is believed Fiat or Abarth will be used to rebadge the roadster for some of the markets. Nothing is official yet, but back in March it was reported that “Abarth really makes sense for a lightweight, small displacement, high-output two-seat roadster, which perfectly fits the brand's DNA”.

What we have on this rendering is a familiar convertible sports machine, based on the Mazda MX-5. It features a modified front bumper with redesigned radiator grille, different fog lights and a central chrome strip with Abarth badge.

That thing is ugly. "Theophilus Chin" isn't a real name, right?

Not feelin' it either, especially with the door graphics up too high, red rings on the hubs and Abarth badge. I'm all for a Mazdaspeed take on it but not this.
