    Hey all,

Just joining up and posting. I bought my Miata back in June and have been enjoying it ever since. Purchased it off of my neighbor, who owned it for 10 years and needed some begging to part with it. On the test drive I crossed 69K miles and the water pump belt broke, overheating the engine. I went through with the purchase anyway and did a bit of maintenance:

    • Spark plugs
    • Motorcraft tranny oil and shifter rebuild
    • Timing belt and water pump replacement
    • Changed all coolant hoses
    • Recharged the AC
    • BFG G-force Comp 2's
    • Installed Cibies and no name driving lights, relayed w/ high wattage bulbs
    • Added a 12V outlet by the passenger seat. Best work/reward ratio yet. I've never used the stock outlet.
    • Made a flippy license plate bracket, because the offset mounts are gross looking

The car came with some pretty cool stuff, like a hardtop, 15x7 American Racing wheels, R-pkg lips, mudflaps, 94+ braces, TSI's, electric trunk release, flash to pass mod, headrest speakers, aftermarket radio, VLSD and manual steering. A very well set up car to start IMO.

The only real modification I have done is going to NB Billies and hats, 450/300 springs with Allstar sleeves. In the future I think I'll get helper springs, change rates, and get them revalved to the "Fast Mike" specs I've heard about. Mostly though, I've just been getting this car back into top shape and driving it. So far I've put on 13,000 miles in 8 months since purchasing it, lots of backroad mileage in there. Being a college student, money is tight and I plan on DIY'ing a few things. I do have a Raceland luggage rack and FM Randall intake awaiting a warm day to install.

Me? I'm a mechanical engineering student at Virginia Tech, and I'm on the FSAE team here. I used to ride my motorcycle a good deal, but the Miata has cut into that severely. I'm very boring and like for things to look stock. Currently, I'm getting this thing ready to cross the country this summer, hence the luggage rack.

    Here's the car.

Doesn't look stock to me. Looks lowered with wheels and a few aftermarket parts. Folks often call that style OEM+ around here.
I think the trunk rack will suit it well, especially if you have a cool looking suitcase for it.
    And welcome to MR!

Yeah, I guess you could call it that. It's becoming a buzzword though, and I hate that. I want something that looks like it could have come from the factory or a M2 style tuning house that way, not necessarily something that actually did. Fog lights were a factory option, and 15" wheels were too. Right now I'm looking at swapping in another OEM steering wheel for example.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
