I agree with that, which is why I've been able to hold off on buying flares so far. I just saw that red car on Instagram and got crazy ideas again. I think I just need to mount the rpf1s to hold me off and get me out of the funk.

So got the tires mounted. I definitely need tire paint to fill in that fat tire sidewall

This shall be the before picture.

Giving the paint some much needed attention and getting it ready for pictures to submit to Revlimiter's calendar.

Crappy night time photo, but it shows a little bit of the reflection.

Only got to do the driver rear quarter, trunk, spoiler, and part under the trunk. Hoping to do 1/4 a night over the next for days, then polish it on Friday for some scenic pictures.

Here's part one of the after shot.

I finished claying the rest of the car. Just have to do the rear after cutting the bumper, hardtop, and hood. I was going to install my license plate bracket and tow hook, but realized the baby teeth and bolts that attach them are missing, so I have to order 6 of those now.
It's looking a little better now, but I still have to take a buffer to it and polish to remove the swirls.
Oh, and fix the center caps, tire shop put them on crooked and it bothers me to no end.

So I finally did my rear bumper cut to fit the dual exit exhaust. I kind of hacked up the passenger side and went a little too high. I'm still not sure if I'll use this one or my spare which just has the Racing Beat template cut.

At this angle you can see where the cut is too high and not perpendicular to the horizon. I made the mistake of following the body line and not geometry, oh wells.

Still looks decent when mounted. I will get some better pics when I go try to find a submission for the Revlimiter calendar over the weekend.

I dont feel like removing the crash support, so I will likely be using the more tame cut most of the time.

Here are some better pics of the bumper cut I did. Finally took some day time pics to submit to Adam for his calendar. I will be cleaning it up in the future, but for now it will stay as is.

I also took off the baby teeth on my NB to install some parts on the NA. I didn’t want to wait to order the 6 14mm bolts needed to install my RS Factory Stage tow hook and license plate bracket. Huge props to Rev9 and Project G for the quality parts, two awesome vendors for the Roadster community. Now I only installed the front 4 bolts because, f**K those two rear bolts, that’s why. They were a pain to install with the bumper on, so I will just have the body shop install the last two whenever I get it painted and it’s all apart. They are pretty sturdy as is, so I’m not too worried about it for the time being.

I love how you can’t see the bracket when I don’t need to use my front plate.
Here she is with the quick release knob option. Super cool piece.

And finally with the actual plate on.

I still need to sort out some wiring and misc issues before I can drive it confidently around the hill country or some of the local tracks in Central TX, but it feels good to drive it again.

I guess its time to update this thing. I built a gaming computer this winter during all the black friday sales so the miata hasnt gotten much attention. Now that spring is back I figured it would be a good time to start working on the car again.

I finally installed my M2 mirrors and started taking the dash out to get it ready for the leather wrap.

They need a nice polish but I'll worry about that later.

Then I took out the gauge hood, tombstone and cluster to get it ready for the Revlimiter goodies.

Finally some progress, but that carpet is going to need a nice cleaning.
I will be taking out the final piece of the dash once I find an upholstery shop willing to take on the project. (one already turned me down)

With the cluster out dis-assembly begins.

Per Adam's tutorial, I calibrated the needles with the car on. The color is really hard to capture, but I love them.

The lighting option I went with was clear so that if I ever want to change to LED or color bulbs, I can do it pretty easily. For now I am using red bulb covers on stock lights. Thanks again Revlimiter for providing those little condoms.

You might have notice the needle caps. I bought some Jass performance caps since I knew I was going to be opening the cluster and wanted that extra bling. The quality and fit on these are great. Definitely recommend if you are in the market for them. Price is lower than some of the similar JDM products, but the work is top notch.

They slide right over the OEM needles. All 5 of them fit perfect.

Back in the car for final test.

Picture quality is bad but here is night mode.

I had Adam make these more than a year ago so I'm not sure how long I will keep them since the car's theme has changed a bit since then. I have sold off a lot of my purple accent items and his new gauges(The Fallen as well as others) are so beautiful I kind of want something more artistic. I will decide once the car is painted for the final decision so I will be using these Gt40s for at least a year.

Next up was to tackle the Hvac panel. Having it out of the car made it super easy to work with. As well as Adam's instructions; which made the process one of the easier projects for the miata.

I had Adam make the lighting on the HVAC panel white was well, so with these helpful little covers they will match the gauges perfectly.

I went with the roadster panel since it has that clean OEM+ look.

Again top notch work and customer service when you buy anything from http://www.Revlimiter.net
I matched these up with the http://RetroModernGroup.com/shop/ minimalist control knobs. I think it fits well with the needle caps and other accent pieces the car will have.

Next up is cleaning up the interior pieces to get it ready for the leather wrap. Here is a little sneak peak of what else is going on in the inside. This is the reason I went with red lighting, because I'm hoping the subtle touches in the stitching will tie everything together once the car is finished.

Looks great! I was not aware that Adam had the bulb covers for the HVAC as well? I need to get some to match the different colored ones from my upgraded gauges as well.

not sure the variety and amount he keeps in stock, but it will be nice to have something other than the green I've been starting at for the past decade or so of miata ownership.
