I'm a 1 day old nA 1994 miata owner who wants to know can 16 inch NC rims & tire work

I'm a noob and just have my 1994 na miata one day and I'd like to put a set of 16 inch nyc rims and tires on my miata..

    Will they fit?
    Will it cause any problems
    Will it work out great?

59k miles and it's a fun sports car...

    Black on black 5 speed.

    Thanks in advance

Your 1994 miata is 4 lug and the NC is 5 lug. If you get some crazy 4x100 to 5x114.3 adapter like pictured below, you could potentially put NC wheels on your NA.

Seems like a nb wheel would be a better choice. Would the 2002 nb 16 inch rim work with 205/45/16 tire work?

    Or is it too tall?

Thanks...what's your feeling with regards to 1996 15 inch m edition rims and tires?

I can pick up a set with new tires for 150 dollars and giving him my 14 s...(his car is totaled so he is parting it out.) I read somewhere the 1996 15 inch m wheels are the heaviest ever put on by mazda...18. Lbs just for the wheels the year after the lightest m edition wheels which were BBs.

Would you chose 2002 16 inch miata rims with 205/45/16 s or would you chose 1996 m edition wheels and tires ?

They both cost the same..or would you just stay with the wheels and tires in 14 inch size that the car came with?

Yes the 96M Enkei's are 14.5lbs as is the 97M chrome wheels, the heaviest 15" oem miata wheels. A link to oem miata wheel weights: http://www.miata.net/faq/wheel_weights.html

Thanks for the information. I'm new to miata a so your insight as to whether or not the benefits of moving to this 15 inch rim is a good compromise to get bigger tires on a budget or should I just stay with 14 inch rims that came on the car ...(for performance and ride)

I did notice getting tires in the future in either of these sizes is challenging but I do have time as the present tires seem to be brand new....(maybe 3k miles of use)

Personally anything over 15 on an NA look too big for the car frame. I would stick with the 14s until you can afford what you like. You can always refresh them and make them look great.

I know you're only about 10 days old by now but I love your Miata. I only got formula and plastic El Caminos at your age. By the way, what is that grotesque, over-powered beast on steroids inside the garage?

I think those are the 1997 STO Edition Wheels? Or 1996 M-edition, because the 95M got the BBS wheels

    Looks good though!

Your right it's 1996 m edition wheels. I like the looks and having fun with the raw sports car like driving experience of the miata....I have the flyin miata butterfly brace put on June 20 th. Great service from flyin miata as they shipped it yesterday .....

I can't wait to review to product ...after I install it.

Doing the exhaust by the end of the week just for sound...

The corvette in the garage is my third new one.

Bought a 99 z51 , then a c5 z06 with cam headers, gears etc and now this one is c6 ls3 z51 m6 with npp exhaust. Great car.

As a father of a 19 year old severely autistic son.....I really got to the place where I needed to change the narrative. I needed a smile if that makes any sense and I couldn't think of a better way then to own and drive an na miata...

The car was so mint...the mileage so low and the price so unbelievably reasonable....I was telling my wife and she suggested I buy it for Father's Day..

I went for it and it was exactly what I needed. Everyday I smile..everytime I look at this car...everytime I drive this car....

This car is just a great experience as I'm sure you guys already know.

I also dig the miata community. Really good people....always ready to help or lend insight....

This forum and it's members make the ownership experience just that much better.

Well you made excellent choices in cars, best of both worlds. And you're right about the community here. We really strive to have fun, cordial place to talk about Miatas and any other toys you have so don't hesitate to post a Vette thread too as we have some monster Miatas using LSx motors. Speaking of toys, we even have a Hot Wheels crowd here as well!

Welcome to the family and enjoy that fantastic lil' NA. What a gem that is!

When I have the money and have fixed my misfire problem. I intend to get a five lug conversion for 15" x 7" rims to put on my "97" NA. I, like you, just got my first Miata. Hop you continue to have fun with it. Keep on smiling. I'm looking for 5 stud over the stock 4 stud because I plan to build a 350hp + engine to drop in it. I'm afraid that 4 studs wont be strong enough to keep the wheels on the hub.
