    Raydyot Mirrors for Miata NA

I just picked up a pair of these for around $150, shipped. They are kind of small and the mirror is small but they are made for the Miata NA. Opinions?

That you could have got the mirrors themselves for almost half that :

You would have to make your own adapter/mount and they just have flat glass but you could also buy those separately and come out ahead.

That would be around $100, shipped for those mirrors in your link. I do not know how to fabricate that much. But I would pay $50 more for a direct fit.

I hope I can see the other cars thou while I am driving. Time will tell.

Just trying to help others save money if they don't mind the differences, the total w/ shipping to Texas was $92.10 so about 38% less. I'm not trying to under cut a great miata vendor just offering an alternative for those that don't mind a little fabrication, if it can even be called that at such a simplistic level, and want to save a little money. Competition is good for the consumer and keeps businesses competitive, which is good for everyone.

I can't speak about the visibility the Raydot mirrors but my Zoom Engineering mirrors look to be similar size and with the convex glass, visibility is pretty good. Usually modifications always involve some type of comprise(s) but i think many aftermarket mirrors for the miata are pretty decent.

I am not a skilled fabricator, so I would buy the direct fit.

Good price on the dots. Take the Miata gasket and cut a sheet of 3/16 aluminum for your adapter. Easy peasy your life is easy.

Somewhere over on club there is slink for adapting these to the Miata base. A little too stalky for my taste. You could always mount them on the fender?

Oh yea the visibility on the passengers side is quite limited. So much so I went to a long acre wide angle view, helped immensely.

Raydots are not to my taste, but they work if you're going for a vintage-racer look.

Picked mine up from Moss and I love them. the may be small but the mirror is convex so it has a wide range of vision. But the thing I like most about these is the fact that they do not move/vibrate on hard track use. I have had Bomex, Slick Auto, etc. mirrors and they all move except these.

Love the machined aluminum finish as well.

Technically, the mirrors are all Raydyot-style mirrors. Some of the cheap ones don't even use glass as the mirror. I had a set lying around; cheap junk.

Jass will also sell an adaptor plate; just add your own mirror..

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I recommend Tex Evolution mirrors. These are designed for a classic Mini, and so an adapter plate needs to be made. They are the same mirror, from the same maker, as the Runabout mirror, but for 25% of the price.

    http://www.gbcarparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MI-MDM01

Huge difference in UK price; at £17 each, these English made stainless steel mirrors are the same price as the cheap Chinese reproduction mirrors ($60+ each in US, $25 each in UK)

Just a generic pattern racing mirror and a bit of metal.

Or buy said plates, add some cheap mirrors

Here are the $150.00 US dollars Raydyot mirrors on my car. These are direct fit and is no fabricating or drilling. They are bolt on. I like the brush aluminum finish.
