I may have to switch over the built head sooner than I anticipated. I have a collapsed lifter that doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Such is life.

I am not convinced the sound I hear is a collapsed HLA because of when I hear it and the RPMs it occurs. I did the infamous "2Twisty" flush:
Drain oil, remove filter.
Add 3 qts of ATF, 1 qt 20w50 motor oil. Install new oil filter.
Let the car idle for 1-2 hours. In my case, I did 2 hours, just because.
Drain, allow to drip-drain about 20 minutes, remove oil filter.
Install new filter, fresh motor oil.
Mine came out pretty clean, as I expected, I have heard others had their mixture come out black. My engine only has about 300 miles on it.
I am going to look to see if there is a part or bolt outside the engine that may be causing the sound I hear. It may be something resonating at that engine speed. I had a similar experience with an intake manifold support I forgot to tighten down.
I also installed a new o ring on the base of my dip stick tube (#012, .5"OD, .375" ID, .0625" TH). It was the only leak I have located since the rebuild. The old one was as flat and hard as Agent Orange's ass.

Added heat shielding to the tranny tunnel to prevent the hot foot. I have been running a JR header for years and noticed the extra heat near my right calf and ankle. The area apparently gets so hot, it discolored the inside of the tunnel in the cabin and was oxidizing the exterior. This should help immensely.

I also threw in the 5Xracing steering rack risers for help with bumpsteer:

Getting an alignment, then just a few small things.

Nope. On the rack, we found the FL lower control arm is bent severely. Probably from one of the tow trucks. Need to find an NB arm, swap over the bushings.

It was a *great* time driving in heavy rain through ATL traffic with considerable toe out. Despite the control arm, the shop corrected the toe for free so I could get it home. I am tracking down an extra arm tonight.

Never give up, right?
Got a clean LCA from R*Speed yesterday, removed the bent one.
Today, I pressed out the PU bushes from the bent arm, the rubber ones from the new-used arm and set out to correct the situation.

I degreased the new arm and laid some engine paint on it, using a heat gun to accelerate the curing.

Pressed in the PU bushes, installed, replaced the tie rod end, reassembled the corner. ~2 hours today.

Hosting a couple of friends tomorrow to prep for a HPDE next weekend. Just some minor stuff to finish off, and get an alignment too.

About the only thing keeping me from completing the car is engine failure. Should we find something in the upper motor not right today will force me to swap heads this week.

Had friends over, flushed the brakes, bled the clutch, changed the diff oil. Consensus says a stuck lifter on #3 or #4, intake side.
This isn't terrible news, but I don't feel comfortable pushing it. So I will go retrieve four HLAs from my spare head, the JUN cam gear and swap them in my current head.
Not too bad. I will have to pull the valve cover, front engine cover, water pump belt, alternator (because I have a new one to install anyways), slacken the timing belt, remove intake can gear, cam bearings, CAS, intake cam, 4 HLAs, then reverse the disassembly.
I also have to get an alignment.
