Whoa--- wait a minite, yeah we can park that in the front yard, but that car you're loading up don't look like a Miata or a "vette"?
Track has jogged a little more west. It's not going to be affected by Cuba much, reintensify as a H5 before making landfall. Tampa is now near the path. I guess if it hugs the west coast of FL, it won't weaken as much as previously thought with the SST of the GoM really warm.
Hurricane Irma — via Weather Underground (http://bit.ly/WUmshare).
Highway 75 and 95 north out of Florida are completely shutdown with traffic. Everyone is leaving
We had a friend get scared and left Tampa at 12 noon today. They just now arrived in Gainesville. At 10pm :0. That is normally only a 3 hour drive max.
The miata is safe since we moved to the new house.
I have go to my storage and get more stuff but it's zeroing in on Tampa now. Hoping its downgraded once it whacks Cuba.
I'm sure we are gonna lose power soon. Hyper, Agent Orange, Dandy, and everyone in Florida be safe.

This is getting worse by the hour. All projections showing a westerly route which means me (Port Charlotte) and then Phat (Tampa). Combined with a full moon, seasonal high tide, intensifying speed and a night time event, it couldn't get any worse. If Harvey was bad, this is his pissed off big brother.
I've never hoped more for the Sierra Maestra mountain range in Cuba than I am now.

Port Charlotte reporting...we're here too! Trivia: I've heard Gary Fischman, who runs miata.net out of his house is between me and Phat.

KFJ, are you still going to Florida? After Irma?
Our general manager lives on a canal in Cape Coral.
He is staying slightly inland at a relative's Condo.
Hopefully the harbors provides some protection for him and Agent Orange.
When I was at Miatapalooza in Tampa, I took the wife down highway 699 to see the beach front and have lunch. Wow, there is not much elevation or protection there for those expensive properties.
Everyone do their planning and stay safe.

MiataQuest, they've been showing potential flooding areas almost down to the street level. Here is Cape Coral which is just south of me:

and Port Charlotte:

I have a small boat in the back but still can't imagining cruising down my street in it like in Houston.
