    Another ND redering

This one is from a Japanese magazine.

Goes on to state there is talk of a 2.0L Motor and a 1.8L option, this combined with a reduced curb weight will give the car a 30% decrease in fuel consumption.

decent interpretation of the kodos language. i'm still not buying into the "scoops" these magazines are publishing. mazda is smart to keep this redesign secret. it builds a buzz and since they have no real market competition, they can afford to keep it under wraps.

looks way too girly, and it's not the paint making me think that. needs more aggression.

I really hope Mazda stays away from the pentagonal grille... There is no way to make it work unless you make the car too masculine looking. That's fine on an RX-8 or RX-7, but not a Miata.

As long as they make a turbo version and exhaust back on the drivers side Ill be happy, then we can look at easier bolt in swaps again, tee hee

I'm thinking that's the Mazda identity for quiet a while to come. Look at the current mazda 3

Yeah don't expect the ND to stay girly-looking. It's a good possibility that the front end will look a lot like that rendering, which is fine with me. I just want to see a Miata-specific Skyactiv 1.8L-2.0L with ~180-200hp and 2,300-2,400lb curb weight.

It definitely needs to compete with the FR-S and BRZ for some sales.

They need to make it more affordable. It seems like the NC starts cheap, but you add a few small options and the price has jumped $4-5K. And that's usually just for a rear spoiler and alarm system. For $5k on a Honda Fit, you get a full Mugen body Kit, new suspension, Mugen interior, bunch of underhood bling, ect.

Just priced out a basic setup for an NC without many options, $27k. That's approaching 370Z territory and for the average consumer the choice will obviously be for power. 370Z is fast, MX5...not so much.
