Im cruising at 80mph comfortably in my e46 in 6th gear at 2800 and dont need to downshift to pass.

My LFX 6L50 swap with a 3.23 third member cruises at 55 MPH at 1500 RPM. 1900 RPM at 70. With a Hemholtz resonator exhaust it will still do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. Loud while accelerating, quiet while cruising at 70 and below.
I do have to admit, it doesn't drive like a stock Miata.

That has to be one of the best swaps for a Miata.
No todo que es oro brilla.
I like my ND with an automatic.
The truck I am building now is going to have a BMW DCT. No clutch pedal required.

Its interesting how BMW engineered their DCT. Basically a manual transmission with actuators.
I believe you are thinking SMG; which is typical of gearboxes of that era. F360 and F430 for example are the same (which makes manual conversions relatively easy without changing the gearbox itself). DCT is a fully-fledged dual-clutch AFAIK.
Thats it. Thanks!
wtf are you driving on highway's with your Miata's?
Guess it's better than not moving at all.

Moved out of a Miata because most of my driving is freeway driving with aggressive/inattentive drivers.
