    Works Bell spacer problem

Hi, everyone. I just bought a Works Bell 30mm hub spacer from miataroadster.com to use with my Nardi wheel. I can't get my horn button back in. The inside diameter of the spacer is too small and I can’t get the spring/clip/retainer to fit. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You need a Nardi horn button retainer ring

You can find them on ebay...

I just got a reply from Bill @ miataroadster:
    Hey Marty,

If you look carefully, there's a removable ring in there. I think if you pop that out, you should be OK.

Let me know if that solves your problem.

I will try this when I get home.

    Another reply from Bill:
Ah! Sorry, I thought you had ordered a hub.
Since you didn't buy the hub from me, I'm just taking a stab in the dark here…
I think what you need to do is relocate the existing horn ring from your hub to be on top of the spacer instead of under it.
    Does that make sense?

Looks like pacman 99 was on the right track.

I finally took the time to get the horn button in last night. I just bent the V-shaped springy clip thing (yeah, I'm sure that's what it's called) that holds the button together so it fits inside the spacer.

This pic that I "borrowed" off ebay shows the problem. The clip sticks out a tiny bit and that was too much for inside diameter of the spacer.

That's normal. It takes a bit of force to push the button in... but I guess bending the clip would make it easier. Whatever works !

Glad its in. (thats what she said)
