Rv, do you have pictures of the hardtop? I have heard that a larger area like a HT is more difficult in applying a uniform coat.

i gotta get some of that stuff.
The stuff works pretty well. I used it for a few things on my NA. The two main things were the headlight surrounds and wiper arms. Here are some pics of the finished products. The wiper arms need to be done again because they got hit by the buffer during detailing.
I have an extra can sitting around that I was going to use on my DIY hardtop spoiler, but that little project was put on hold since the hardtop isn't even on the car
Will be using this to cover up some of the chrome on the exterior of a friend's NC in the next little bit as well. That should look pretty good when it's done.

was planning on doing the headlight surrounds as well once they come in.
I've already done my wiper arms and worked great
I was really happy with the wiper arms just because of how bad they were before:
And the PO of my car was really careless when trying to apply wax so the headlight surrounds were covered in that nasty white residue.

For something like wiper arms I would probably use regular spray paint. Plastidip is best for temporary fixes so you can revert back if needed.

What do you mean? It works fine over long periods of time. It also has a really nice finish that looks great on the exterior for parts like that. And when I have a can of this stuff laying around I'd rather use it than go out and spend money on some spray paint to get similar results.

I used the spray on my mud guards and after 6 months they look as good as the day I sprayed them.
Also used it on my brother's protege5 on the lower portion of the rear bumper (valence I guess?) and I did that over a year ago, it still looks like new even after a Canadian winter.

did both mine and my wife's Protege5's as well (although it didn't hold up to getting hit with the buffer)
masking tape is your friend, you shouldn't be hitting any trim like that with the buffer, just like the PO did with my headlight surrounds. And unfortunately like my detailer did with my wiper arms (didn't really expect to hit them but it was unavoidable).
